Hello everyone...so need a little help please. I booked CSR Nov 15-20 but we want the extra day and could not get 21st at CSR but were able to get the full 15-21st at Port Orleans Riverside. I know it is all just opinions but should we keep trying to get the extra day at CSR or will we be happy with POR...we have only stayed at POP in the past so our first moderate...wife daughters 7&9 and me if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance.pirate:

My family and I love POR. It has beautiful grounds , the food court is very good and they have a boat to dtd. We book a preferred room for a little more money so that we are with in a minute of the main building and pool. Although last time we were there we walked to the building furtherest away and timed how long a walk it was to the main building and it only took us 6 minutes. The walk was shaded all the way which was nice in Aug. AB rooms are more rustic which we like, very homey, while the mansions are a little fancier. We also like that we can walk to its sister resort FQ and get beignets for breakfast. One other fun thing at
POR, from Wed.-Sat. Yeehaw Bob puts on a show in the lounge which is a lot of fun for every age.

I think most of it is personal preference. I prefer the theme of Riverside. There are some pros and cons to both resorts:

Coronado has more amenities than the other moderates, plus it has a "hip" club. However, it has more conventioneers which to me can disrupt the vacation feel a bit.

Riverside is more centrally located. It also has a beautiful boat ride to Downtown Disney. Food court is much quicker and easier to use at Riverside. Only real downside to Riverside is that it shares buses with French Quarter. Both resorts are huge and spread out, so there's no real advantage there.

CSR is our favorite mod., however, I'd change to POR to add the extra day. If you wait for and extra day to become available, you might miss out on getting the days that you want at POR. I would also add that if you go back to WDW, try CSR again as it's fantastic! :)

Like a PP, we like both. For us, POR edges out CSR because we like the more family amenities that POR has, like bike and boat rentals, family entertainment with Bob, plus the boat to DTD is great.

What room category were you trying to book at CSR? I ask because we are booked at CSR 11/14-11/22 and to my knowledge, there wasn't really anything big going on during that time that would cause a sell out. Curious!

It will be our first stay at CSR, but we have stayed at POR twice before and loved it. Just wanted to try something different, but stay within our budget. I don't think you could go wrong either way!

I don't know why I could not get that extra day at CSR...I called and the CM could not do it maybe FD allotment is booked for Nov 21st...Funny but the CM could not even change my reservation to POR even though I could on my computer:confused: Anyway looks like POR so we can get that extra day.

Have you tried going online and checking CSR out for those dates? There has been a couple of times I was on the phone with a CM and they said that they could not get a certain date, while I was looking at it online. The CM said to try and book it and I booked it online and got the dates I wanted. There has been a couple of times I got a better discount by calling over the online discounts, this is why I end up doing the leg work online and then calling to make my reservation, I figure I will cover both bases:)

If you are asking which resort I like better it's CSR hands down. However I wouldn't have a problem staying at either POR or CBR to get the extra day's I wanted.

We love POR - the grounds, the pool, rooms in AB with the pull down bed, the boat to DTD
We had originally booked there for our Oct trip but when they extended FD, we decided to take advantage and we had to move to CSR or CBR. We chose CSR deciding to give it a second try - we stayed there a few years ago and didn't really like it but there were a few extenuating circumstances. We were traveling with my MIL and SIL and that alone was stressful, it was our 1st trip with our son with a food allergy and we were anxious, and our room was dirty with food on the floor when we first checked in. Hoping for a good experience this time!
