This year's Halloween Recreation Activities Schedule is now up on the news page at my Port Orleans site (www.portorleans.org/news.php#281011).

The November schedules will be up in the next few days too (movies will be at 7pm during November, in case anyone is making any specific plans).

I'm sure you've gotten many, but KUDOS on your wonderful Port Orleans site!

I'm a DVC member who hasn't spent much time on non-DVC resort sites in a few years. Now that we planned a relatively-last-minute stay at POR to enjoy XMas, I've had the chance to see what's new there. Your site, is (by a mile) the BEST, most up-to-date site dedicated to a Disney resort I've ever seen. Incredible work, truly appreciated!

We got a 30% off pin code so I am very excited to say, as long as we can use the code to book all 3 rooms for our family, we will be booking at POR! it is for our trip in May. Without some kind of discount we were going to book a value, but now....POR here we come! Woo hoo!:yay:

If it does you can share the pin code lol.

I have to agree 100%.

Andre it was your amazing site that convinced me to stay at POR last year (our first trip to DW).

Before our first Disney trip, I studied and studied the resorts and ended up choosing POR because of Andre's site. Love it!:thumbsup2

Good Morning!
I did a search for "murphy" and also for "trundle" and got zero response. Thought that was weird so I figured I would ask my question, as I am sure someone has the answer. :goodvibes

We are a family of 5 planning on staying at POR next September. Will the new rooms have the trundle still or do they have a murphy bed? I have heard/read different things and just want some confirmation. Thanks!

26-Aug-11: To put the ongoing debate to bed once and for all (to use a very suitable metaphor) I had a great meeting today with someone who can give us an absolutely definitive answer on the extra bed in Alligator Bayou question. (Thank you for your generosity with your time if you are reading this)

So YES, the fifth person bed option IS staying, but not as a trundle bed (as they won't fit with the new queen beds). The new option will be a fold-down bed which is actually slightly bigger than the current trundle beds, and it will allow smaller adults to use it rather than just kids. It will be located on the wall, beneath the new flat-screen television (which will also be wall-mounted) and will fold down on top of a lower, wider drawer unit. Princess and the Frog fans will spot some fun themed details on the inside of the new fold-down unit and also on the comforter pillows on the main queen beds. Oh, and AB fans will love to hear that the existing floor tiling in the bathroom and vanity areas will be staying, as it was only installed fairly recently. The general rustic concept will be staying too, but "on steroids" as one resort manager commented.

On the downside, one other thing that I learned it that the option to have an extra roll-away bed brought into the other areas (Magnolia Bend and French Quarter) will no longer be available with the queen beds, meaning that Alligator Bayou will be the ONLY option for families of five. There will also definitely be no King Bed rooms available in the new Royal Room areas (which we already knew from the booking site).

I called today with my coveted 30% off pin code. The reservationist told me there were NO standard rooms available on the pin at either POR or POFQ!:scared1: She said the pin had been out for a while (well why didn't I get one sooner then). Anyway, we ended up booking a standard view royal room for all 3 of our rooms. So we spent more than we hoped, but with the 30% off we got the royal rooms for what we would have paid for a standard room at rack rate. My daughters are thrilled they will have the royal rooms for their little girls. I just need to figure out how to save an extra $300! I'm so excited we are finally booked! Now I am anxiously awaiting the completion of the royal rooms so I can see real PICTURES!:3dglasses

And all that pregnancy in 2 rooms!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know. I'm terrified!!!

We were last minute add ons to this trip (my DH did NOT want to go with our 2 little guys) so we got squeezed in. Maybe he will be so miserable on night 1 that we will come up with a new plan for nights 2-4.

Our kids are 14, 12, and 11 and we are getting 1 room this year simply because of cost. In the past we have all been in one room and did not like it. We have alot of space in our home and my kids are space spoiled! Last year, we got 2 rooms connected and it was great.:rotfl2:(room to roll on the floor, get it?) I wish we could do it again but it is just too much this year. We are squeezing in and staying longer.:upsidedow Honestly, it can be tight, especially if you have the double beds. It's silly but one of the things I dislike the most is having to go to sleep at the same time. But...if it's the only way you can go, it's worth it. Just prepare yourself mentally. If your husband can be talked into changing his mind for your own room, well....I'd jump at it! :yay: Use that pregnancy girl! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Leaving in 5 days! Yay! This will be our first trip staying in AB (due to being a family of 5). Last time we stayed at POR was 16 years ago. Anyway, any opinions on which AB building is best?

Andre, I know you reported this on your site, but i'm not sure it's totally true... CSR rooms are the same size and have had queen beds for quite some time and we had no problem getting a rollaway (we were not exceeding room limits, just wanted an add'l sleeping surface) in that room... so i would have to say that the rollaway option may still be there :)

Well good morning all, so AB is getting a Murphy bed under the tv, did I read that right? Has there been anymore news on the refurbs? Still on schedule?
