We are staying at POR from Nov. 2-Nov. 6

Our party of 10 includes 2 grandparents, myself (29 weeks pregnant)/hubby, my brother/his wife (12 weeks pregnant), and our collective children ages 5, 3, 2, and 1.

Per CM recommendation, we have 2 rooms at POR.
Room 1: me/hubby, bro/sil, and 1yo baby.
Room 2: grandparents, kids ages 5.3. and 2

Do you think we will be able to be comfortable in 2 rooms? Would you request trundle beds for the room with the 3 little kids? Can a trundle and a pack n play fit in the same room?

Any other tips?

Thanks!

Can you fit in two rooms. Yes. Comfortable? Maybe. AB would be a nice option for you to request with the extra bed. Since you technically would be families of 4 (as the other 2 kids are under 3) you could get either the Mansions or AB. Now comfort and sleeping is another option. If finances afford it, I would seriously consider getting another room. Each family could have their own room and the grandparents could have their own as well. My Mom has come along on several trips to WDW. After sharing a room twice with my brother's family she wanted her own room for the next trip. Disney is tiring enough but for grandparents (and I would imagine for you too!) a little down time might be welcome. Either way, you will be at WDW. Enjoy :)

To the airport. Staying at Hyatt in airport tonight. Gonna get on DME bright and early, drop stuff with bell check and head off to MK!!!

Does anyone know if there is any chance of POR getting Wifi (free or $) any time soon if the initial free wifi test with the other resorts goes well? We are heading there in Jan, and hoping for wifi for our ipad's.

Yeah I read that on allears.net also. I would like to know about this as well. But I too have an iPad but I just you wifi tether with my phone at the moment.

Is the tethering option easy to set up? I have AT&T and an iPhone.

Yeah infact you can tether for free using apple to apple product. Iphone 4?

With the iPhone 3GS/iPhone 4, you can only tether via Bluetooth with an iPad running iOS 4.3. Browsing speed is ok for email and websites. Finally, I have 3G for my WIFI iPad!

With iPhone 4, you can tether I guess either via Bluetooth or WIFI. You probably want WIFI cause it supports up to 3 WIFI devices.

I've been checking the room only discount every day, and today it finally opened up for my dates (Nov 4-9) but only in the "preferred" category. I'm wanting to stay in Acadian or Magnolia in the new queen beds. Are there any rooms there preferred or are the preferred only in Alligator Bayou? I'm afriad to ask the disney phone operators this question, they never know anything. And I need to act on this quickly since the discounts seem to disappear in one day!

Do I set this up via my cell company,or can I do it without going through them? I have an iPhone 4,and an iPad 2...both with IOS 5.

It will happen, yes. All of the WDW resorts will get in-room Wi-Fi at some point soonish. The deluxes will be completed first, then the mods, so probably not by January for POR.

Will POR get it for free or a fee?

I was just catching up with the thread and I read this. Yikes! You do all fit into 2 rooms, but I know I would go crazy with those arrangements and my family/inlaws! I don't need a lot of room for vacation (although I do like it), we've styed at the All Stars and Pop and didn't mind the room size. But being in those quarters with parents/siblings/kids would be a lot to handle. Do you all go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time? I know my MIL goes to bed at like 8:30, and my DH and I shared a room with her once in Niagara Falls and I vowed I would never do it again! Now would I do this if it was my only choice to get to WDW? Yes, in a heart beat. Would I recommend it if there is another way? No. When I used to fly down and meet my parents at WDW for a few days I shared a room with them, but then it's just the 3 of us without my husband. Now I have a DS22 months, so that arrangement is no more.

I am arriving at POR November 5th for 8 nights (Yay!) and have my husband and son (22 months), brother and SIL, parents, and MIL and we have 4 rooms for 8 people. Each family has their own room. We actually never even thought about doing it any other way, I don't think there's any other combination that would work out for all parties involved.

I hope you all have a great time, let us know how it turns out. We'll actually be there at the same time, if you see a group that fits our description come up and say hi!:):)

Also, yes I think a trundle bed and pack and play will fit. I know you can put the pack and play towards the bathroom, and it may even fit elsewhere even with the trundle.

I've been following this thread for a week or two now, as we've just booked our first POR stay!
We'll be in a garden view Royal room Feb 27-March 4. :yay:

You'll be there the same time we will but we will be in Royal River View Room. Feb 24th - Mar 3rd.

Funny. We'll be there Feb 29 - Mar 11! Can't wait!:yay:

We will have three groups of us there around the same time.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

It'll be fun to countdown together. :cool1:

Woohoo! We're spending a long weekend in Miami (South Beach) with family, then heading up to the World.

Yay! :yay: Countdown buddies!:banana::banana: I think it's the perfect time to go! Warmer weather, but not too warm; just misses President's day and spring break so lower crowds! Can't wait!
