Essentially, yes, you will have rewards in two different places.

I have the same situation with my no-fee Disney card. I’m planning to use the PYB function for my Inspire card which I will use for any Disney spending. I will keep the rewards from my other Disney CC on the rewards card and use it like a gift card.

Hi All! Been following this thread and I have decided to join the "Inspire" Club...LOL

A few questions.... I currently have a Disney Premier card. Will this card automatically close? Will my reward points transfer?

My current card is in my name with DH as an authorized user. Can I do the same for Inspire card or do we need to swap with him as applicant and me as AU? I just don't want to mess up getting the new card offers.

If you have enough upcoming Disney spend, you could each get the card and double up on the sign up bonus

We aren't planning a Disney trip again until either Nov 2027 or March 2028. I have a pretty large amount in my rewards account currently. If I close my Premier card in a month or so and transfer all my rewards to a card, will they expire sooner with the Premier card being closed or will the original point expiration dates apply?

I currently have a Bounceback ressie that I am pushing forward each time they release a new set of dates. My plan is to make a payment towards that within the first anniversary year to get the credit and then the next anniversary year will be the actual trip with lots of spend.

It should.

A couple of things. Your Premier card - if you've had it a year you can always product change it to the no fee card and keep it on the side for offers and to use the points from the card doing pay yourself back on vacation.

Next, the sign up bonus $300 DGC and $300 statement credit only require a $1k spend which is essentially tiny for the perks.

I would suggest you use your Premier card to refer your husband for $100 disney dollars or whatever they are calling it now. Skip the authorized user idea - it can be a problem with future cards.

After your husband gets his card and gets the bonus, have him refer you for another $100 on his card. Applications include household income for both of you in each application.

Don't forget to product change that Premier to (fee free) after a year if it's not there yet. Disney would like you to product change upward but don't - you'd lose the $300 plus $300.

Then, both of you can take advantage of the ticket $100 off $200 plus the $200 off $2000 folio spend. You can time one card to do 2027 or both, or reach into 2028. No one knows when the offer may change, but going forward if you use the card for Disney+ $10 a month, the fee will be negligible to keep the card. In any case you could build a nice bank of funds for vacation.

That's what I plan to do. I've had the Premier card for years and just got the Inspire. The Premier has a number of reward dollars on it, but I'm waiting one cycle to be sure no auto charges come through that I didn't find and transfer to a different card. Then I'm going to load the reward dollars on my rewards card and call Chase to move the Premier's credit limit to the Inspire and close the Premier account. I'll use the reward dollars from the Premier card on our DCL cruise in December and the reward dollars from the Inspire account to pay myself back.

Reward points haven't had an expiration date for some years now, so I don't expect that the ones I transfer from my Premier account to my existing Rewards card will expire.

I tend to look at a bigger picture when I'm dealing with credit card rewards. Case in point for me: Chase recently gave us an offer for Chewy which may be relevant if you have pets. $15 off $50. If you have it and have pets, it's good until end of March to add and use. In situations such as that the earn rate is not as consequential. *It could also show up on both cards, no fee or Inspire in which case I'd use both cards for 2 $50 orders.

It's $15 versus using the Inspire card to get $1? Or is it 50 cents? Also, pay yourself back is so much easier than keeping track of a rewards card when you have points. Lesser chance of fraud.

You can also have a Disney charge for the Disney store although it's seldom I do. Also there can be special offers that seemingly have nothing to do with Disney. Managing a card to me means looking at all aspects of it. I also go to Disney 2-4 times per year so I do use up my points quickly.

Since I'm retired I do have maybe a bit more time to track this stuff, and it adds up over time.

And, full disclosure - I'm also not committed to just Disney cards. I love Chase cards and ones that give Ultimate Rewards in particular such as Chase Sapphire or a Freedom card. But I'll also keep my fingers in the pot for Disney rewards.

Where can you see the placeholder?

On the website: top right, under Rewards. It will show your current Disney Rewards Dollars balance. The > arrow will lead to more detail. Placeholders are under "Recent Rewards Dollars activity."

Yours may look a little different because this is after the cycle closes, but the placeholder for the statement credit is still there.

I have the Premier card and I think I'll just upgrade to the Inspire. I have like 20 things that go auto pay and I do not want to fool with them. Plus, I don't want to apply for another credit card. I know I will lose out on the $300 offer. I will need to see how to change Disney+ from yearly to a monthly charge....and I can't remember how long it has been since I paid the yearly fee.

I have probably $1100 in Disney Rewards right now and we have a trip coming up in May. There are four of us (DH, me, and our two grown children). We usually just split the rewards and get everybody a gift card for them to buy their own souvenirs or whatever. Like for $1100, we would each pick out a cute Disney gift card once we are there for $275.

But last year, we changed from ten days at Disney to 3 days at Universal and a week at WDW. We are doing the same thing in May. Last year, we honestly found more things we wanted to buy at UO than WDW, which I thought would never happen, but we love Harry Potter and How to Train Your Dragon. That means that we didn't even spend all of our souvenir money and each ended up using "real money, lol" buying things at Epic. How does this PYB work? Can somebody break it down for me using small words, lol?
