Port Orleans Riverside FAQ thread - Royally Refurbished for 2011

The following dates include some overlap between buildings, and are obviously always going to be SUBJECT TO CHANGE, so please don't make your wedding plans based on them! I have deliberately not quoted the planned completion dates to avoid anyone getting disappointed.


•Magnolia Bend, Acadian House: starts 26 June 2011, for approx. six weeks
•Magnolia Bend, Magnolia Terrace: starts 31 July 2011, for approx. six weeks
•Alligator Bayou, Lodges 36, 37, 38, 39: starts 25 October 2011, for approx. eight weeks
•Magnolia Bend, Oak Manor: starts 15 January 2012, for approx. five weeks [Royal Themed Rooms]
•Magnolia Bend, Parterre Place: starts 19 February 2012, for approx. five weeks [Royal Themed Rooms]
•Alligator Bayou, Lodges 24, 16, 17, 28: starts 3 April 2012, for approx. eight weeks
•Alligator Bayou, Lodges 14, 27, 18, 15: starts 8 May 2012, for approx. seven weeks
•Alligator Bayou, Lodges 25, 35, 26, 34: starts 5 June 2012, for approx. eight weeks
The construction work will happen one building at a time, however especially in Alligator Bayou it looks as though work on the next lodge may well commence before the previous one has been fully completed, giving some overlap where two buildings could be out of use at the same time.

I have no idea why the schedule for the two mansion buildings which are due for the 'Royal' treatment (Oak Manor and Parterre Place) is slightly shorter than the other two buildings - you'd have thought they would actually take longer to complete. Time will tell I guess.

My trip is getting soooooo close! We leave here on Wednesday for a couple of nights at North Redington Beach and then on Friday we arrive at POR for a 10 night stay! I'm so excited!

Now if I could just get my DH away from the computer where he is currently on a hurricane watch...... him me

I have three vegetable gardens and a bunch of flower gardens (the previous owner was a great gardener) and I try every year to grow something, and every year I grow next to nothing.

Yeah and ours is: 27 Weeks and 6 Days........We are already getting the are we there yets!

Our summer trip is 10 days away...DH and I have a countdown for our Anniversary trip in November. Every day we text back and forth, is it time yet?

I think right now I've got the longest wait. 205 days. Just over 6 months. I can't really complain, though. We'll be there on a different trip to a different resort in 65 days!!

Did on-line check in yesterday, forgot to put request for close to transporatation, hope that is going to be ok. I have on my reservation that I'd like a refurb'd room in the Acadian House. If I get on my knees and beg, do you think they'll give it to me? Oh well, only 9 days to wait!!!!

They are tracking 2 or 3 storms off Africa that travel to Florida or U.S. east coast. Tis the season I'm in Florida now, leaving for WDW in 7 days.
