Conga line through the Port Orleans Riverside -- see you soon! Four weeks from today!

Depending on which time in Nov you go (if it's late enough), I think you'll love the yule tide decorations at the main building. And don't forget to get a picture of the whole family in Santa's throne right by the Christmas tree.

As of right now the plan is Nov 9-16th. We LOVED all the Christmas decorations last year but we were there when they had record lows and it was FREEZING. I know that's not the norm, but we're not taking any chances! Do you think all the Christmas decorations will be up by then? What about the lights on the castle? That was BEAUTIFUL!

I believe that the HGTV special said that most if not all of the decorations should be up at the parks and resorts by Nov. 8th-10th. I'm not 100% sure. But I think, that's what I remember.

If you haven't seen the HGTV Disney Christmas special, keep an eye out for it from November-on, this year. Or see if someone you know has it taped (I have it DVR'd. Loser... party of me :lmao: )

But the split second MNSSHP is over, they start decking the halls.

Tell me about it!!! That's why we booked 11 nights this year, I'd have booked 2 weeks if it weren't so close to school start. As it is, we will miss both kids' Open Houses at school. Oh well, I hope they won't get lost at school.

We have 2 nights on the beach followed by 10 nights at POR:yay: and then 4 nights at Universal's RPR. It should be a fun trip......as a matter of fact, I KNOW it will! We would have snuck the beach in between POR and RPR (probably could use some down time between the two) but the dates for free dining just wouldn't allow it and I wasn't giving up my free dining:scared1:! 24 days till POR (but 22 days till North Redington Beach)!!!!

My best friend and I are coming back to WDW in February of 2012. :woohoo: We've been once before and stayed at POP but we'd like to upgrade to moderate and we both love the look of POR!!! I have a few questions though!

1) What is the weather like during February?? :confused3
2) At this point I see a few buildings in AB will be refurbished and we'd like to stay in AB. I know requests are not guaranteed but if we requested these rooms are we more likely to get them because its value season?
3) Also, the rooms that will be refurbished are the furthest AB rooms from the main food, lobby, etc. Is it really that far to walk? We were in a far building in Pop (90s) but we didn't think the walk was bad at all.

Thanks for all the information on this thread and on the portorleans.org site!!

We stayed in one of the far AB buildings in 2007 (building 38). We were fairly close to a bus stop. We enjoyed the walk to Riverside Mill. If we knew we needed to stop for something in the main building (like package pick-up), we'd get off the bus there, run our errand, then walk back to our room. I was really disappointed when we got building 38 but we ended up loving it.

Very nice! We are going to go over to Universal also this time.

Almost! Not too much longer.:thumbsup2 Why does time seem to drag on while you're waiting to get there but it flies so fast after you arrive?
It's not fair! (insert tantrum here!;))

I know. it's getting to the point now, that I want the time to drag, because once I arrive at WDW i start panicking that too soon it will be over :sad2: To be truthful, the panic is already starting  sheech!
The saddest wait is sitting on that bench waiting for the DME pick up. :sad1:

We have 2 days on the gulf coast before WDW too. St. Pete Beach. But we leave next Tues for 2 weeks in Ft. lauderdale, to see family, and take care of some stuff. So I won't really relax till we leave Ft. Lauderdale for the Gulf.

The weather in February is basically a crap shoot. We honeymooned at Disney in January and wore shorts every day - wore a windbreaker or sweatshirt in the mornings and evenings, but didn't need it at all from 10am until dinnertime, and we even swam. We were there with the kids in February 2010 and froze our fannies off. The temperatures never got above 55F and most of the time were cooler. So you just don't know.

My advice is to watch the local weather online in the week before your trip, and to pack for any eventuality. Take a couple of pairs of shorts and a couple of pairs of jeans. Have the ability to layer, and take a hat and gloves just in case. Being cold can ruin your trip, and though its harder to pack a wide variety of clothes, you can always do laundry if it ends up being one extreme or the other and you wear the same things again and again.

I was reading the disneyfoodblog post for today on Gasparilla Grill and Games. Gasparilla has a coffee machine that offers expresso, capuccino, and cafe latte. Do they now have this at Riverside Mill? I really don't care for the nescafe.

Does anyone know?
