Ok, now i know where my confusion came from. I thought the "refurbed" rooms were the same as the "royal" rooms.:rotfl:

So the refurbed rooms simply have queeen sized beds with updated decorand the royal rooms will have queen sized bed with spectacular decor?

Sorry about tbe typing. I,m on a nook with my kitten terrorizing m e :lmao:

Naughty kitten! (love kittens!)

All Royal Rooms will be newly refurb'd, but not all newly refurb'd rooms will be Royals. Does that compute?

I'm curious to see which direction they go for the new Alligator Bayou decor.

We wil be staying at POR Riverside this coming Decemeber, our first stay there ever

When booking our stay we booked a standard King Size room but put in a special request to have a River view in the Magnolia Bend room. The CM was very nice and assigned us to building 85.

After we hung up with her I got a bit confussed...I realized that river view has it's own category with it's own price, so how was she able to assign us a building so far ahead of our trip and put in a request for a river view?

Also is building 85 a good choice? Thanks for the expert help!

The CM may have meant something different than what she said. Im assuming she meant to say that she will add your request to the reservation and meant that she would add building 85 to your request as well. They don't assign rooms this early in advanced its really not decided until you get there and is now, from what I understand done by the computers instead of the CM at the desk. You can however ask the CM if your request can be met if you do not like the room the computers have choosen for you, but this can mean you might have to wait longer that day for the room to become available if there is one. Hope this helps!

2 great days on the Gulf Coast. Alarm set early for our drive over to WDW :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

That's what I want to know, too! I had looked online one day and they had the Princess room showing up - I was super excited! I hadn't seen them before when I ran trips for our spring visit... then all of a sudden there they appeared. Come to find out, I had entered info for 4 people, not 5. So it must have been in the mansion rooms.... I'd like to see how they redecorate the Bayou rooms. We are a family of 5, so that is where we have to be. I didnt care if the rooms were too princessy for my boys or not - it sounded fun and I was going to have one. :(

Has anyone seen any pictures of the princess rooms? I'd love to see them!

I think my question got lost a few pages ago, or someone's reply did. :0)

We have a King room booked. Are these all over the resort, no special location? Are they ever corner rooms? Are there king rooms in the newly renovated sections? (not Royal rooms, I know they're not underway yet, and it doesn't look like King Royal rooms will even be on the menu).

:hippie:

King beds are all over the resort, and sometimes are a corner room. :)

They are all over the resort; I have only been in the mansions and in the three times I got them, I was traveling solo. All three were corner rooms.

Your teasing me sooo much. I can't wait to be setting foot down those docks! Can't thank you enough for these very nice pics. What kind of camera do you use?

Hey all,

Quick question.....I booked a river view room and requested the mansions, but now I'm hearing that for many of the rooms the view can be somewhat obstructed by various things, ie. trees, shrubs, etc. Out of the mansions, which buildings offer the best view of the river? I know I'm asking a lot, but I would also like a king bed, so now I have to figure out which is more important, the bed or the view.....

Is it possible to request both? I already paid for the river view, I'm just wondering if I'm pushing my luck asking for a king bed as well. Too much to ask? OCTOBER 7 CANNOT GET HERE SOON ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, to all the folks down there this week, I hope you have a wonderful time.

And if no one gets pictures, then the walk back to the ME bus won't be the only walk of shame.....:lmao:

I'm just saying......

King room is a booking category, so is riverview. You have to decide which is most important to you and request the other.

I have had three king rooms; all corners. I have been lucky enough to get them w/o requesting or booking, because I usually go solo. They have all been in the mansions. First year, it was a view of the woods; gorgeous. Next was near the quiet pool; loved it. Last one was riverview, but it was slightly obstructed by the stairs leading to the second floor.

It is good to note there are less king bed rooms than riverview. Also, king bed rooms are also the handicapped accessible rooms, so depending on how many request them, there may be less in inventory for that week.

We have been using Tracfone for years!! and it is a great way to stay in touch at the parks. We used to have to add minutes online, because our phones had issues putting codes in... however, we both got new phones for Christmas last year and adding minutes from the phone is very simple! Actually it is easier than doing it online now... all you have to do is type in the numbers off the card....

hope this helps

Yes! This helps me out a lot. You really put my mind at ease. Thank you.:goodvibes

Room assignments are done a few days prior to your check-in. The CM probably suggested bldg 85 and added that to your requests. Don't be surprised if you get a different building at check-in. Bldg 85 is Magnolia Terrace which is a great building IMO. Also, if you booked a King room - that's a step up than standard because it costs more. I doubt if you will get a true river view room since river view is a separate booking category, and the most expensive. If that category isn't sold out, they may be able to put you in one. Once I booked a standard view room and I had a partially obstructed view of the river. I'd presume you'd get something like that, but it's still good.

Yes. New paint, sinks, beds, bedding, TV, table.. the works. It's all new. They are also going to be doing the royal rooms but not until 2012.

I don't know which is the best view of the river, I have never booked river view, but I don't know of any rooms (maybe in AB? IDK) that are directly on river so I suppose any of them can have an obstructed view. On the mansion side, there is the lawn and walking path in between you and the river. You would have to decide which category is more important. For me, since there is no balcony to enjoy your river view from, I would book king bed and request a view of the river, even if it is obstructed. I believe river view even costs more than a king room.

Thanks folks! I think I'm going to change my ressie to a king bed and request a river view. Now I'm off too look for pics of the king rooms. Thanks again!

3 days to go!!!!:banana:So excited!!!!! :cool1::cool1:I'll try to get some 'spy' pics if I can.:rolleyes1 I'm definatly planning on wandering around the resort. The only problem is that I can't figure out how to post them in my message!! I see the insert image button but then it wants a url?? :confused3Help!

I was in Parterre Place last year, on the end of a wing and was about 30 feet from the river. I had a partially obstructed view by the stairwell, but still a pretty good view. I pulled my chair out in the walkway in the alcove area of the entrance of the room just about every night and watched the water taxi go by. Since there were only four rooms on that end, I had very little foot traffic go by. It was delightful.
