thank you! FQ is the first stop with the bus correct?

FQ only has one stop; so if it is just a POFQ bus, it will only stop at the main building.

If it shares with POR, then it goes first to POFQ and then swings around to POR.

Thank you! That's not bad at all. I was expecting worse. lol

I'm now toying with the idea of going over to FQ since all the rooms are queen beds now. It breaks my heart a little since POR looks so beautiful and suits my tastes much better but I'm the type of sleeper that takes up the whole bed and a double bed will not cut it for hubby. :lmao:

If I can just get that guarantee that we'd be in a refurbed room, I'd book POR in a heart beat.

Decisions, decisions. :confused3

If you get the refurbs they will have queens in them. So you will have plenty of room lol.

I hear nightmares all the time about the bus. we are paying for the preferred room... praying for building 14. we are a grand gathering too.
if i am reading the web site correct the blue bayou and delta are the stops for us.. but FQ is picked up first? How crowded?
to go to the Poly for Ohana's would it be better to go to DTD? Or bus to magic kingdom take the fairy boat back over?!?
just trying to figure the best routes.. any and ALL comments are Very MUCH APPRECIATED!

I would think that would be the best route. Or the boat to DTD then grab a bus to Poly.

I have not stayed at POR yet, but I would definitely take the bus to MK and then either the boat or the monorail to the Poly. The buses to and from DTD are always the worst.

Even better than my other reply. I like this idea better. Just a quick jump onto the monorail from the MK and your there.

You only want to use the buses in the evening at DTD hub; they are totally unreliable any other time of day. Also the buses start running at 9:00 am for DTD, the water taxi doesn't start running until 11:00 am.

While it is a nice perk to get back from the resorts in the evening, it is the worst way to get anywhere in the morning/afternoon, to the resort, especially if you are trying to make an ADR ressie time.

DTD buses during the day, do what is called "dead-heading". That means, if dispatch notes there is a line growing for one of the resorts, they will divert a bus going from or to the parks over there for a quick trip. There is no set time or rhyme or reason to when the bus will arrive there.

One year, I saw five buses go by with DH-OKW on it in the span of ten minutes; and waited 35 minutes for my bus to GF.

Definately a perk in the evening if you are coming back from a resort; you can opt to take whichever bus comes first; a parks bus or DTD. I do it all the time. But if you are trying to make some kind of schedule, I wouldn't even suggest it as an option.

No, only at busy times of days; but there will be multiple buses for each park.

At busy times, it is not uncommon to see two buses for the same park come around about five minutes apart.

Yeah I saw two at the same time before to Hollywood and epcot once both trying to squeeze into the same station.

That happened to us at the Poly....10 buses to AK but not too many to DTD

Well I do agree to the idea someone else came up with about taking a bus to MK and then just hoping onto the Monorail to poly for Ohana. Still debating if we are going to see it ourselves we have seen a lot of bad reviews on that show.

Honestly, I saw it once; it was okay, but nothing to write home about.

The one I continuely go back to and always recommend is the Hoop-de-doo-revue. Now there's a show for you!;)

Where and what is that? Where can I find that?

yes! with all the history and haunting of New Orleans it would be neat!
The "dark" photos makes you think if you watch it long enough you'll see something walk past! ha ha ha..

I like the look of the headboards too. Are we in the minority here?

This is the concept art of what could have been. While the royal rooms are great the haunted rooms would have been a must do for my family.

Good morning all!

I have just joined the thread, and want to thank everyone for their helpful information! Especially to Andre, your website has been so helpful!

KCMike, I truly love your pictures!

That leads me to a question. All of you have so much knowledge of this resort, I would like to ask for an opinion. I have booked POR for March (with free dining!!) and am now re-thinking my resort choice. The reason is DH and I stayed at CBR one year, and he did not like the layout of the resort because it was so large and had the multiple bus stops. Someone mentioned that POR and CBR are similar in layout, and that scares me. Is the resort truly that large and spread out? Also, the bus chatter makes me nervous.

I really want to stay here, but this is my husband's birthday trip and I want him to enjoy himself. I've been thinking of switching to POFQ because of the smaller size and accessibility, but with the charm of a moderate resort. Would this be a better choice for us?:confused3

I understand that these are strictly opinions, and will take them as such. Thank you all very much in advance for any help you can give.

If it shares with POR, then it goes first to POFQ and then swings around to POR.

This is not always the case. We stayed at POFQ last year and there were several occasions where, on the return from the parks, the bus drove past POFQ and went to all the POR bus stops before finally stopping at POFQ! When this happened, it took at least an extra 20-30 minutes to get "home" to POFQ. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it....sometimes POFQ was first stop when we shared the bus and sometimes it was the last.

:goodvibes Yay!!! single digits till WDW and POR. Can't wait and hope to get one of the new rooms :banana:

I've picked out my lounge chair from KCmikes latest pool pic! Looks so inviting, can't wait!
