Trying this question again. Having never stayed at POR, or read through the entire 206 pages of this thread...
Is the Murphy bed in the newly refurbished rooms for a child only? An adult could not fit? I couldn't get the size of the bed from the pictures.
Thanks for any info.

The murphy bed is being described as fitting for a child or small adult. I think they have been guessing it is around 5ft long.

Oh dear, oh dear. We are booked for next summer in a preferred room, which of course would be the AB section. I've been anxiously awaiting pics to see the storage space, as we will be there for 18 nights. I just don't think I can handle the lack of storage space for that long. The mansion section storage is a little better, and I love the look of those rooms, but I just don't want a far walk to the FC. May have to change to another resort, but I really don't want to.

I wonder if the rooms without the murphy bed will have extra drawers?:confused3

Anyone staying during President's Week in Feb? I'm sooo excited! It doesn't seem that far!

We've stayed in both Mag. Terrace & Acadian House in rooms facing the shared quiet pool. This location is right by the bridge over to Old Man isl, and just a short walk over to FC. Great location. No need to switch resorts.
In Aug we got a new room, and they are very nice, and had adequate storage, the drawers are very large.

Good Morninig:) I just wanted to post that I've just returned from a stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We were in Room 8220, and I can't say enough good things about this resort. Room was refurbished beautifully and we were SO close to bus stop.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the pics, but guess I'll stick with Mansions. Love what they did with the sink & bath area, very cute, and like that they got rid of the pedestal sinks and put in more storage under sinks.

But not a fan of the twig furniture. Looks like the same beds?

All of the Alligator Bayou rooms will have the new murphy bed layout once the refurb is complete, including all the Preferred Locations (well, apart from any King Bed rooms anyway, which we're assuming will not have pull down beds - but obviously we've not seen any photos as yet). I think the size/nature of the storage area under the murphy bed will need to be investigated by our next set of spies! :)

They are new beds (queen size) but the same style of bed head. That's the point of the rustic theming, so if you don't care for it then Magnolia Bend might be a better choice for you.

Cool! We just returned from our trip on Nov.7th. We stayed in room 8527 Magnolia Terrace. Was very nice. We enjoyed POR very much. However, DW and I think that maybe the CBR is still our favorite moderate resort. But it is just a matter of preference as all Disney resorts are magical.

Yes, guess I'll stick with Mag. Bend. I was just hopping that the AB rooms would be more of a change with the furniture, like the Mag. Bend rooms where all the furnishings were changed.

So will any of the buildings in AG be finished by Dec 3 when we check in? I like the larger bed for the 5th person. Since our 10 year old son will be using it I am a bit worried about the old ones.

Yes, building 36 is due to be completed in the next few days, followed by 37, 38 and then 39 by mid-December.

So how does one snag one of the new rooms? I really would like one so that my son will be more comfortable? I guess I should talk to my travel agent.

Yes, your TA will have to put in the room request for a refirbished room. I put in a request in Aug for a new room in Acadian House, and was lucky enough to get it.

Two weeks from today, we'll be checking in for a quick one night stay before we move over to the WL.. Haven't been to POR since my honeymood in 2007.
Even though it's only for one night, I'm so excited I can't wait!:cool1:

I suspect there's going to be a lot of fun detail to find when more closeup photos start appearing, loving it so far!

When the first photos of the fully completed AB rooms start appearing, I hope someone can get a few snaps of all the smaller details and wording on the various items around the rooms. Hopefully that won't be long now!

We also need to find out how a King Room will be laid out, if they (probably) don't have the pull-down bed, what will be in its place?

Missytara, are you taking a DSLR with you...?
