You actually aren't calling the resort; you called a Central Call Center that pulled up your reservation and added your requests.

Which makes me wonder why she had no issue attaching it to my reservation but the guy at CRO said I wasn't even in the system and he couldn't do a thing for me? :confused3

I have to say the same thing; she is doing it no differently than CRO.

Bethjones - thank you so much for those. I was quite surprised to hear they gave you a tour, lol.

I suspect senior resort staff might be a little bit surprised about it too... :)

However I guess it's not as if it's a major secret that no one knows about, and after all there will be guests in the rooms in a few days anyway.

Andre

OK I'm sold.

I've always been a fan of the mansions, not so much AB. After seeing these pictures I'm thinking of putting in my request. I love the plank style carpets. This carpet would look great in my sunroom...hmmm Andre how big did you say the rooms are?

As far as the lack of storage goes we always just live out of our suitcase anyways. I do wonder thou did Disney think to put drawers under those sweet queen sized beds?

Looks like above the fridge their is an electrical outlet I'm guessing this is for the coffee pot. This would also be a great place to charge a cammera, iPod or cell phone . In our refurbished room this past summer the coffee pot was on the hutch and the cord did not reach the outlet.

When I saw the LHMC I thought to myself it would be a cool nod to the Dis boards if it was LGMH. :rotfl:

When I went last year and they were doing the POFQ refurb, I did everything to get in to see the rooms. The superintendent was not budging. I did the "I'm an architect; I'm a construction manager; I work with a professional services firm that does work with Disney."

Nothing!

LOL

You should have asked the guy that gets sent for coffee. Their is a good chance he would not know any better.

Just checked us in for our flight tonight!! We'll be there in the morning!!:woohoo::yay::cool1::banana::eek:

Yeah we did something like that last year. Then took a nap when we made it to the room and then went strait to mk at 8 am. It was a lot the first day. Lol

Thank you Beth and Andre - Great pics!
I like the number on the side of the "crate": LHMC101971
I get the 101971 part. I'm still working on what LHMC means. It's probably something obvious...

Love all these details. Very, very cool :thumbsup2

I'm thinking the LH in LHMC is maybe Louisiana Hospitality? Or Louisiana (something) Merchant Company. Not so sure and, as a Louisiana resident, am raking my brain as to what the initials stand for.

So happy to see the photos! Thanks! :thumbsup2

I'm very worried about the lack of storage space. I really don't want to live out of bags for 2 weeks. :scared1:

Loving the pics of the AB refurbed rooms!
I had requested building 38 but I think I may call & add 36 & 37 to hopefully make my chances of getting a refurbed room better!
30 more days until we are there!!

I love this thread! Thank you all so much for posting the great photos of the refurb rooms.

Our first trip to WDW is Feb 2012. We are staying @ POR in a Standard Garden View room that was booked via a CM with the "other guest bedroom discount". Does anyone know where that will put me w/regard to building? The reservation was made for 2 adults so I would presume I'm not in AB. Also, there will be 2 Queen beds in these standard rooms, correct?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Even though you are two, you can still book the AB section if you put in a request for it. But at the same time be careful which building you get in. As some are preferred and have an up-charge for being in them.

Thanks for the reply!

I should have noted I actually prefer the Magnolia Bend area and am hoping I don't get the AB area. I was just wondering if, since the reservation was placed @ discounted rate, would that mean I would end up in the worst possible case scenario area of the resort in the oldest room. LOL
