Hi,
What a great video. I love the music. What camera did you use to get the underwater pictures?

My iPhone!

I bought a waterproof pouch at Gander Mountain (camping supply store) before we went camping this summer. I was so scared that it would not actually be waterproof by it was perfect!

So we are just back and I always make videos of our trips for my kids but this time I made a shorter video of JUST our time at POR because we had so much fun with the resort activities. A lot of family photos but a lot of pictures of POR itself, too. If you want to see it, here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3fbl6ZGdmY&list=UUe6jIwS4STS-hrbmCmD5MyQ&index=1&feature=plpp_video

Aww, that was lovely. You all seemed to have such a great time, I hope you're back there soon.

Andre

I have a few questions about POR. Any answers would be great!

1.) If you opt for online check-in, does anyone know what "options" you can select? (Can you request AB vs MB? Can you request a room w/ a Murphy bed?)

2.) If you get a Murphy bed, are the sheets/pillow to make the bed in the room or do you have to request?

3.) Do all the AB room have Murphy beds (and none of the MB rooms do)?

Thanks!!

1. No, requests need to be tied to your reservation. You need to call CRO and attach it to your ressie. AB is only guaranteed if you book preferred or are a family of 5.

2. Mousekeeping makes up the bed.

3. Both are correct.

We stayed at CSR last month, and at online check in, you could pick 2 requests for your room (close to main building, first floor, etc). POR doesn't have anything like that for online check in?? I realize they're just requests, but I was wondering what the options were.

Do they always make up the bed or do you have to request for them to? We will only have 4, but DD wants to sleep in the Murphy!

Thanks again :)

It will the same thing for POR, except if you have an infant booked in your room, the pak 'n play.

You will have to call CRO and request AB, if you are only 4. If they are not busy, you may get them. You can reiterate your request at the front desk when you check-in.

I put a few more pictures into the Riverside picture thread, so I thought I'd post one over here again to remind you all to go look at the pictures when you want a picture fix!:rotfl:

Nice video!

Quick question - When we stayed at Pop there was a microwave and toaster in the food court that was easily accessible, does Riverside Mill offer that too? My mom likes her homemade rice-flour bagels for breakfast, but they need to be warmed. I want to make sure she will have a way to heat them before she decides to pack them.

Thanks!:flower3:

There is a microwave and toaster to the right of the food court. It is near a seating area and a hallway that has bathrooms.

We are here! Got here yesterday evening. Got my corner room!! Glad I faxed. Love the room (AB) it's a beautiful resort. So relaxed just like we wanted. People are so nice. So far doesn't seem crowded at all. We'll see how the buses are today.
We watched a movie On the lawn last night and tired out the kids. I am so excited for animal kingdom I couldn't sleep any longer. LOL I'm worse than a kid. :)

Yay!! So glad you love the resort! Have a magical time!! Animal Kingdom is not everyone's favorite but it's at the top of my list. :cool1:

Andre, thanks for all of the help in requesting a room at POR. After following your advice ITT and on portorleans.org, I submitted our fax 5 days out (this past Saturday morning). Literally within minutes, Mr. Elg responded via e-mail saying that all of our requests (AB, Building 16, 2nd floor, corner room) has been met for our arrival on Thursday.

Again, thanks for all of your efforts! Those of us who didn't know how all of this works greatly appreciate all that you do!

Many thanks for the nice words, but the real praise here should definitely go to the management and staff at Port Orleans - and especially the aforementioned Mr Elg, who I know makes a real effort to try to see that special room requests are fulfilled if possible.

I have been in corner rooms three times; twice in a king and once in two queen. So it varies.

We are in a two queen room. (I'm still here so don't want to give my building and room. :) )

I wanted to mention that so far the buses haven't been bad. I think it's really about timing. If you just miss a bus or at the last pick up then you probably aren't going to be happy (fill up quickly). lol but it has been great for us.

We loved AK. But we love animals. LOVE LOVED Kilimanjaro safaris.

Today is my oldest 5 year birthday. We changed ADRs on Thursday (the times) and the rep on the phone said he was reminding everyone it was his birthday and he will really love his birthday, but he wouldn't tell us what he did. So secret pixie dust??? LOL so we'll see.
