That is a great screen shot, Venomhatch. It shows the transportation options much better than mere words.

Bingham2, don't feel bad about your "Disney ignorance". We can see that with just 65 posts you are still in the learning mode. One other option for getting from the MK bus depot to the Polynesian that has not been mentioned yet is to take the ferry which runs from the ferry dock at MK across the lagoon to a dock adjacent to the transportation & ticket center. When DH & I stay at a non monorail resort and have an ADR at the Polynesian we take the bus to MK and when we get off the bus we first look towards the ferry dock to see if there is a ferry just beginning to load. If you take that ferry across the lagoon it will drop you off between the TTC and the Poly (get off the ferry and take the walkway to the right to walk through the Polynesian grounds.) If there is no ferry at the dock we head over towards the smaller boat and monorail station. A few times we have made it just in time to catch the boat and that is a quick ride. If we've just missed the boat we go up the ramp to the monorail. I hope that I didn't confuse you further by giving you another option.

Thanks! with Venomhatch's picture it's makes sense. My boys would love the ferry boat.

We are planning to give ourselves 90min just to be safe. I would rather be early than late. And since we don't really know what we are doing its probably safer that way. lol

Does anyone know when the Recreation Activities for September will be posted over on portorleans.org ??

Thank you both for the kind words. Yeah explaining it can be harder than just going up finding a map screen shot it. Add a lil painted path and upload it here.

The boat is pretty cool kinda like a old steam boat. Holds maybe 20 people on it.

I was wondering too since now it will apply to me! :D

Thank you Andre!

Question: my oldest son will turn 5 while we are there. We are eating at Boatwrights that night at 8:30pm. (We are getting a late start as he will be taking the pirate cruise that morning) It's my understanding from the cake threads that I can have a cake delivered to the restaurant. Can I get it delivered during our meal? Or just for pick up?

You should be able to arrange for it to be brought out during your meal, but I would discuss it with the restaurant staff beforehand, just to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Not that I have ever heard of. The only thing I know you can request from Mousekeeping for children, as needed, are bed rails.

Can someone staying at POR right now post what beers they have on tap. I assume the have Abita Turbodog and Amber? What else?

Darn! Thanks for your reply. I thought I read about that somewhere but I couldn't find anything on it. There is so much info and I have been researching for 6 months so just got confused ( or wishful thinking).:rotfl:

I have a folding stool that I may try to fit in our suitcase. My DD3 is very independent.

We just left yesterday and got home at 3 am. This was our second POR stay and we loved it just as much as we remembered. We actually stayed at the Poly before checking in at POR, and couldn't wait to leave to get there! No kidding. :) My kids loved the Royal Guest Rooms. . . even the boys.

This is by far our favorite resort! (We will see if that stands; next trip we are planning another split stay: POR and The Contemporary. But I suspect it will.)

Were here now. We got some major pixie dust on our room! I booked royal room garden view...and we got riverview with a corner room! I could not have asked for a better room. Its absolutely perfect and beautiful. Food is so so....service is nice. The buses are hit or miss. We met some folks this morning that waited an hour and a half for a hollywood studios bus. Headed to Fantasmic now! Hope everyone is enjoying their stay...or enjoying their anticipation for their stay!

Hi, we will be at POR in 10 days!!!!! So excited as this is our first time ever to WDW.

I have a question about shipping items to the resort. I initially was only going to ship two cases of water from Walmart but now I am considering shipping diapers (regular and swim), some snacks and almond milk. I can't have the milk delivered from Garden Grocers as they don't carry the brand my 3yo drinks and Disney only has soy as an alternative to regular milk and my ds is allergic to both. Anyway, I'm concerned the resort will not be happy with us for shipping this many items there. What do you guys think? We can carry everything but the water with us but it's much easier to just ship it. Any thoughts?

That's great about the "Pixie Dusted" room! Hope the rest of your trip is magical too. :goodvibes

We just returned and we shipped 2 cases of water, sunscreen, crackers, cookies, trail mix, granola bars, cereal, orange juice and tea (mom prefers a certain brand) all from Walmart, total was just over 50.00 so we qualified for free shipping. I shipped it all to POR, which ended up being 4 boxes:eek:, we had no issues from the resort, actually while checking in the CM said "it looks like we have some packages for you". After we got into the room, DH and I went back to the front desk to get our boxes and there was never an issue. Hope that helps.
BTW if you are going to order you should probably do it soon if you are only 10 days out.
