I didn't use a TA, but for those who booked at the same time as me seemed to have gotten it about a week after I had, as Disney sent it to the TA first who then sends it to you. If you don't get it in a couple days I would call your TA.

Thank you!

For anyone there now or just back, have the love bugs shown up yet and if so, how bad are they?

Dessert Loversm I need your help. If you are going before Thanksgiving, can you keep your eyes out for Chocolate Creme brulee. We ate at Cal Grill one time and they had it. It was the best thing I ever tasted. I saw it wasn't on menu posted now, please let me know if any is sighted anywhere in Disney. Thanks.

25 days until POR, but still no Mickey Mail or ME mail. I used a TA, would that make a difference? Should I call my TA?

We are at 16 days and we got our mail on Friday, 22 days out. We used a TA. She said normally it would be closer to 12 days out but she will be at WDW herself by 12 days so she sent it early.

Oh my, that sounds yummy!!!!

I've tried asking this question several times with no response. we booked standard view. My mom booked royal room. What are the best room requests to make sure we won't be really far apart. should I fax this request or is the fact that our reservations are linked good enough?

We also have royal rooms booked in February and have requested the Oak Manor building - I would recommend you may want to request that for your mom's room, and then for your reservation request Magnolia Mansions building. When you fax in your requests, make a note of both reservations and that you'd like to be in close proximity. I'm sure if any of the actual POR experts have further advice, they will jump in. :goodvibes Good luck!
Here is a link to Andre's site on room requests with a map, hope this helps!

Reservation for water view. Cast member put a request in for Bldg 90 & 95. Oak Manor & Parterre. Looking at a property map it shows several designated smoking areas near the building.

Smoking locations aren't much of an issue, they are scattered all around the resort anyway, but don't really effect rooms at all. More of an impact is that some of the nicer benches/etc around the resort and the river side have now been designated for smokers, making those areas less pleasant for the rest of us.

Oh, and buildings 90 and 95 (Oak and Parterre) now exclusively contain Royal Rooms, so you are much less likely to get them by request if you have only booked a regular room.

Didn't see any for the last two weeks (just got home).

See http://www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php for lots of info on making room requests.

Unless they happen to give you a free upgrade though, you will be in different buildings (Magnolia Terrace for you and Oak Manor for your mom would be the closest options). Make sure you have your two bookings "connected" on the Disney system, and just request to be located as close to each other as is possible and see what they can do for you.

Hello all
We r leaving early tomorrow morning :(
But I have a full unopened case of water that I would love to pass on.
Whomever pm's me first it's all yours

Can't wait to stay at POR for the second part of our honeymoon (first part is DCL cruise), we are getting married down at Disney on September 21st!! :cool1: So excited we booked a Royal Room and it is both our first times staying at POR as well!!

YAY tomorrow this time we will be flying to WDW.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have a quick question? Do they close the pools down every time it rains or just if it is thunderstorms?

It looks like my whole 11 days will be raiiiiinnnnnyyyy for the most part...

Anyone care to give ideas what it is like in real life, vs. weather channel?

30%,40%,60%... Etc.

Hoping for some dryness.. Or me and 3 kiddos's will BE soaked! I don't mind occasional showers at all, but when 2 are in strollers and little it is for sure a challenge.

One week!!! :banana::banana:

By this time next week our flight will have landed and we'll be getting ready to board the ME!

I can't wait to try out POR. We liked CSR and I was really debating trying another resort, but now I am so excited to try POR.

This time of year, the forecast is always for "chance of thunderstorms" every day. That doesn't mean guaranteed rain. You can expect a possible shower any given day that might last from 15 to 45 minutes. Then it's magically sunny again. If you're in a park, just duck into somewhere indoors. Showers usually pass quickly. Good news is that many people leave the parks when it starts to rain making lines much shorter when the rain stops.

For the period we were there (last week and early this week), the most it actually rained was this past Monday morning where it rained hard the entire morning, but even then it cleared up around noon. Otherwise it was a short shower randomly on a few afternoons the rest of the trip.

Do they close the pools down every time it rains or just if it is thunderstorms?
Pools close if they detect thunder/lightning. So it could be raining and the pools could still be open. We saw people swimming in light rain last week at POFQ.

Have a great time.

Hey Andre, how was your trip? Looks like we're only 50 pages away from starting another thread. Maybe the 50 pages will take awhile?:confused3

We're in the same boat for October - half our group wanted a RR, the other half did not, so we booked different categories, therefore, different buildings. They will request Oak Manor & we will request Magnolia Terrace in hopes of being in side-by-side mansions, but if not it's all good too.

When you return can you let us know how it worked out? Thanks!

Hi Ahilly

I'm unable to send pms as I've just joined and don't have 10 posts yet. If you haven't already given your water to anyone (and thank you for being so generous!), we'd love to take if off your hands. My bf and I are arriving tomorrow afternoon for the next week and I was actually unable to purchase water through costco because I have a Canadian billing address.

Please let me know and thanks again for the generosity. If it's already been given, thanks anyway :)

Lily
