Hi all, DH and I are staying at Por in november and were wondering if football would be on at the river roost lounge on sunday afternoon. I noticed on all ears that the lounge does'nt open untill 5:00 and the game is on at 1:00. If not does anyone know a good place to watch except espn( not waiting over an hour to get in) btw game is on cbs local channel if that matters :yay:

If they don't have the TV on in the lounge area, you can go out to the bar at the main pool. They have TVs there. I know at POFQ's pool bar, people are there watching football both Saturday & Sunday afternoons.

Checking in tomorrow and we are going to have one awesome time storm or no storm!!! Loading up the van now!!

Hey everyone, trip coming to a close and I have some consumables I don't want to pack- water, ponchos, vanilla creamer, etc... PM me if you are here now or coming and would like them.

That is very nice of you. Hope someone can take advantage of this nice gesture.

I will totally take your water and your creamer! We'll be there at 7am tomorrow off of the ME!!!

Just pulled in to POR after a 16.5 hour drive from NJ. :)

Funny we pulled up to the security guard and he asked if we had stayed here before. We said well not really. Because we have stayed at POFQ. He said Oh no you didn't stay over there did ya? Over here we call that the projects! Lol!

Anyway going to check in and then go check out Bob. :)

I was thinking the same thing! That's such a good cheesecake!!!

Here now, trying to check in. I can say that at 7am you are better NOT doing online check in. There were two families ahead of me, and one at the counter when I walked up, and I've been standing here a half hour. :-(

The regular check in line seems to be moving just fine.

Only 75 more sleeps until our first stay at POR!!!! I read this thread daily and can't wait to stay here. Thanks to all who give this thread life. :)

I don't have any questions.. I just wanted to stop by to say "Hello!" :wave2:

Andre... Have a wonderful time! I hope you're enjoying every bit of Disney! I can't wait to see more pictures of POR!!

If Grumpy is not coming with us, I would be more than happy to stay at Magnolia Bend section!! But if he is coming, I wouldn't mind the Bayou side either. I know I'm going to miss POFQ, but thank goodness that they are sister resorts and they are only a stroll away!!

According to our countdown chain, we have 59 days until we check in at Riverside! I haven't been to Disney since 1989 and have never stayed on property. I think I'm more excited then my daughter! We will be celebrating our birthdays in a Royal Room. I can't wait!!!!

Staying on-site has many advantage. You're doing the right thing to stay on property. You and your family will have magical time at Disney World!! There's so much new changes rides/attractions since then. I haven't been to Disney since 2005 and I know there are new changes. Make sure you do your homework first before leaving to WDW, this way you know what not to be missed rides/attractions. And make sure you have the plan of attack such as what park at what day and find out when is the EMH (extra magic hours) so you can take advantage of that. Don't forget to take advantage of FP (fast pass). Have a wonderful time!!

5 days until DBF & I check in at POR! We will be checking in a LOT earlier than normal. What's the earliest anyone has had a room available? I know they will hold your luggage & give you a number to call. Last year we checked in around 1pm and the room was ready.

Rooms have been available as early as 7 am, when the computers roll over. It may not be the one that meets your requests.

It is up to you to decide to take the first available room or wait for your requests. It depends on when you check in to the resort and how busy that season is currently. The new computer system gives you a great deal of options! Yeah!

Last year(our first and only trip so far) and after being told that nothing would be available until the 3pm mark by a lot of people on the boards and other sites, we checked in at 10am expecting to only get our tickets, but the room was ready.
