What time do the pools closes at the POR and POFQ? Just looking for things to do once the park closes (besides getting sleep for the next day of adventure!)

Here now in building 27. Room was available at 7:40 when we finally were able to check in. Made zero requests other than paying for preferred and scored a corner room. I was ecstatic.

The bus service leaves a little to be desired, but quite frankly, it's about the same at the Grand Flo/Poly/Contemporary since they all share. Getting to the AK is a pain in the patootie from anywhere.

Just finally convinced my daughter to leave the pool. We won Name That Tune and she won a heat of some other game so we walked away with some junk prizes. Having a blast so far and I have to say that I am really impressed with our room. It's sparkling clean and I love the new decor. I wouldn't want to be in the mansions, I think the preferred rooms in AB are the way to go.

Quiet pools never close, so no problem.

When will the schedule for the Recreational Activities at POR be released for September? I am trying to do up a cute photo book for our upcoming trip and wanted to put in the times for the pool games etc.

If it won't come out until the beginning of September itself, do you think I should go by the timing from the old September 2011 schedule, or the August 2012 schedule?

Heading to the airport after a great stay. I'm gonna cry... :(

There is nothing worse than the last day. I take the long walk to the ME bus and say to myself, only 357 days to go.

I'm feeling your pain. I have a feeling it's going to hit me hard on Dec 17th too :( I like this saying........"Don't cry because it's over......smile because it happened".

Oak Manor vs Parterre Place? Which would you pick and why?

We picked Oak manor because it was closer to the themed pool, right beside the quiet pool shared with Parterre place, close to the bridge to the main bldgs and closer to east bus stop if we didn't want to go to main bldg south bus stop.

My personal preference I thought Oak Manor looked prettier & liked it's layout. I booked garden view hoping to be on the side that was toward the river as opposed to the parking lot side. We ended up in the middle of the bldg but on the river side which was nice but all the airconditioning was right outside our window with a very small hedge covering up. For our 3 day stay, we just decided to roll with it but I was a smidge annoyed to pay a garden view for that :rolleyes2 However, stepping outside about 2 doors down, now that was a lovely view :goodvibes

Hi all! I just thought of something today. I was working on our MNSSHP costumes and realized that mine is going to get really creased in my bag. Is there an iron and an ironing board in the room? I can't imagine many people would want to iron on vacation?

Yes there is but I don't believe it is of an average size.

My wife and I were wondering about those rooms! The A/C units (not the one in the window, but the bigger free standing units that I'm not exactly sure what they cooled) were loud no matter where we went. I can't imagine having a room next to one of those would be fun, nor tolerated!

Yes, both full size. They are located in the closet.

A few years ago, they were a lifesaver. I packed all my clothes straight out of the dryer. They were one big wrinkled mess when I opened when I arrived.

Can anyone please verify how much do they hold on your cc at check in for charging to the room privileges? Do they actually authorize that amount for hold or how does that work? I plan on using a pre-paid card for my vacation budget purposes and was just curious how this works? Thanks everyone for all your helpful info...leaving in 13 hours:yay:

It has taken me over a week but I finally finished! My DD14 and DS26 will be with me for the PHM at the end of Feb 13. and we are booked for a RR @ POR. I am even more excited after reading this thread. Now I am going back to page 1 and ck out Andres website! Cant wait to see what other "gems" of information I will learn!! Here's a question for anyone who has done the carriage ride before(I did see a couple of posts here and there re:carriage ride but did not see the answers)...what does the carriage look like? Is it just the typical kind you would see in say NY or is it "Disneyfied"? We are booked for one on our first night there at 8pm (after our dinner @ Chef Mickey's!). I'm thinking it will be dark by then and wondering if it is worth doing at that time or should we change? We were hoping to get "the lay of the land" as they say....Thanks in advance for your help!

I am trying to find all who are going March 1-9th 2013? See if anyone has got the same plans and resort?

My last solo trip was to Parterre Place in a riverview room; I mean not 30 feet from the river.

It was wonderful.
