Of course Andre, Nudge Nudge ;) ;)

BTW, we should get a POR DIS meet together for August. I know our dates overlap a bit.

Just make sure you don't go home with more than you bargained for ;) that could make it one very expensive pirate cruise! :)

We'll be at POR from 16-29 August this year, and yes it'd be great to meet up with some DISers during that time. I know that on 23 August we've got a 7pm meal booked at Boatwright's, so we'll definitely be around the resort that evening.

Andre

LOL, there's no way we can get any other souvenirs other than the ones we buy in the gift shop. :). Anyway, we'll be there 16-25. We are planning dinner at Boatwright's and YeeHa Bob show on the 16th. We'll be at either the big pool or quiet pool near the Royal Rooms most afternoons after 1:00.

Hi Andre, any chance of you catching Bob's show that night? Thats always a fun place for a Dis meet!:woohoo:

Eight weeks from today we will be at POR! Hard to believe, since I've been planning this trip since we checked out of POFQ two years ago. :)

We're hoping to go first week of Feb.
If we arrive at the resort around 7 pm on a Thurs., check-in, and then get something to eat at the food court, is it still worth trying fit 10 people to try to see Bob?
I keep hearing that you need to be there by 8...and we probably won't be.

If you'll still be at the show after 9 pm, we can probably join you. That's an Epcot night for us so we'll head out from there around 9 depending if we stay for Illuminations.

Cool! We never leave before 10pm, that's usually when he takes a short break.:goodvibes

Just curious... are the Garden View rooms located on the parking lot side of the mansion buildings or can they be on the river side as well? Thanks!

Hi! :wave2: I just wanted to join you guys over here! Phantoomch, invited me over from the December 2012 Roll Call thread!

Because of a wonderful turn of events that unfolded this week, I got a great new job unexpectedly, I was able to change our reservation from POP! to Port Orleans Riverside! I have been stay-at-home moming for the past 2.5 years and man...1 income can be not-so-fun when you are used to 2! But that all changes now! DD is so excited for preschool to start and DH and I are so happy that we will have the additional salary now to save for a new house downpayment, and go to PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE!!! :goodvibes

I think I prefer the Magnolia Bend rooms to be honest. I would be happy with either but, from photos I am more drawn to the mansions. Anyone want to recommend an area for us? We do our laundry probably 2 times while vacationing. I prefer to pack light and wash. So a room in close proximity to the quiet pool/laundry area, near-ish a foot bridge too would be nice. We are vacationing Dec 1 - 9 and going to MVMCP!!! :santa:

Oh and I just wanted to say Andre you've down a fantastic job with this thread and the website!!!

Congratulations! that is wonderful!!

********I have a question. I know check in is at 3pm, but we won't arrive until probably closer to 6:30/7. Is there anything I need to do? online check in maybe? This is my first time staying on-site so I'm clueless.

Rats, Andre, we will barely miss you! We will be at the POR Sept 1-8. Would love to have met you and other Dis'ers :(.

:)
DS (7) participated in the Bayou Pirate Cruise on Thursday, and he really liked it. The kids catch a river boat at 9:30 and travel up and down the Sassagoula River for nearly 2 hours collecting clues for finding the treasure. They make stops at POFQ, OKW, and Downtown Disney. They return to POR to find and open the treasure chest.
Each pirate gets a pirate bandana, sword and eye patch. They also get a share of the plunder from the treasure chest. They also provide the kids with a life best and a bottle of water.
It was a full 2-hour activity, and all the kids seemed to be engaged and in character.

P.S. really enjoying our first stay at POR, and the Royal Rooms are quite nice.

I'm so glad to hear this! I read this to my two kids and they think it will be fun. I hope my DS 10 doesn't feel too old once he's there though. He likes the idea of it so hopefully. . . Also, I thought I read somewhere that the kids were served a snack (a peanut butter uncrustable). Is that true?

Anyway, we are so excited to be staying at POR with our kids. My DH and I stayed there once a few years ago for an anniversary trip. We loved it! We'll be arriving 4 months from tomorrow!!! :)

Hello! We are staying at POR in November for our first time. We are a family of five so I know that we will be in the AB section. If we upgrade to a "preferred" room, are we guaranteed a certain building? We are trying to do whatever it takes to be close to the main building. Building 14 looks ideal. If this is already answered somewhere else I apologize, as I am not familiar with this resort. Thanks!

Standard view will mainly be parking lot view. Garden view can be grassy area, gardens, and fountain views. The inner courtyard away from the river can be garden view since you are looking mainly at grass, trees, gardens, and fountains. Anything close to the river is river view. Andre can clarify.

Yes, you'll be in a Standard View or Garden View room somewhere in buildings 14, 15, 18 or 27, which are all fairly close to the main building (see the map in the first post).

The inner courtyard away from the river can be garden view since you are looking mainly at grass, trees, gardens, and fountains.

Some of the inner courtyard can be Garden View, but any rooms which look out over the courtyard directly towards the river do count as River View.
