I saw the great post that mentioned bed rails would fit on the murphy bed, but I wondered, does Disney provide bed rails or do you bring your own? Does anyone think a chair or two against it would work? I apologize if this was asked before. TIA:thumbsup2

We didn't have the Murphy bed, but requested a bed rail. It was provided by POR. Best thing that I wouldn't have thought of if it wasn't for reading this thread. I usually sleep terribly in hotels since I always have a hand on my little one's ankles to make sure she didn't fall out of bed. It was great!

On another note, I have to mention how I loved our mouse keepers. They had some special surprise everyday we loved. The first night was a towel elephant. Then the next night she put my DD's sunglasses on the elephant and put all her stuffies on the bed in a cute way. Then we also got washcloth mice and washcloth little mardi Gras style purse and a stuffed bear. She also decorated the windows with the Epcot Kidcot bears. Those little touches added to the magical experience, KWIM?

One regret I had was missing Yehaw Bob. My DH walked down two nights and said he was awesome. I was just too exhausted ... Next time I won't miss him.

It's also my birthday and 60 days to go for our awesome vacation!

ahem *clears throat and sings* Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Goooooorechick .... Happy birthday to yoooooooooooou ...... and happy 60days until you go .......*boom tish*

:cheer2:

Thanks for the birthday song! :thumbsup2

We just returned from a split stay at POR and BC CL. The POR room was very clean, refurbed. We have Riverside in Arcadia (spelling). Very pretty decor, very close walk to the food court and quiet pool. I am still very much a deluxe resort lover though and think next year I will stick with a deluxe for the full week. I had a great pin and it was impossible to turn down so the split stay worked for us this year. Lovely resort, lovely gounds. No complaints here! I didn't sleep well here but have trouble on firm mattresses - that was a downfall and also you need so special request feather pillow FYI. The ones in our room were awful foam ones but quick call to housekeeping fixed that.

hello all! we are planning our first trip to POR in August and need to run while on vacation...does anyone know if POR has a running path that we can follow? and what the distance may be? I checked the FAQ section but didn't see any thing on it.

TIA!

Glad you had a good trip and thanks for the quick review :goodvibes

So while I am going to miss my week after Thanksgiving trip, I am so excited because a week from this past Saturday, I will be back.

I went to my local watering hole this Saturday; the group I am taking next year works there and I said, just think a year from today we will be at Disney World in the parks waiting for our room to be ready.

They want to do whatever it takes to stay at POR; they have fallen in love with it.

It can be. I wonder about the progress of fantasy land expansion. Anyone recently returned and has a progress report?

EpcotBill beat me to it! Its a great thread with some great pics.

I'm excited about this and by our trip, majority of it will be open (seven dwarves mine cart ride & Princess Fairytale Hall will still be under construction) by our trip in December. I'm waiting to find out about the restaurant Be Our Guest .... desperate to make ADRs there.

The new Fanastyland is one of the reasons why we are going back Feb '13...plus the fact that we LOVE POR!

When? I believe we are targeting the 15th of Feb if not it will be 22nd of Feb.

Cant wait to see POR may have to do a split stay or at least stop by and see the POR.

YES, yes, yes, That is what we are hopped up for. Be our guest! We will be on the phones at 180 days out!

We're going in Feb 2013 too (Presidents Week unfortunately, but we have no choice because of school break times :( ). We'll be at POR from late-afternoon on Sat 16th Feb to mid-day Mon 25th Feb 2013.

And yes, the new BatB restaurant is on our list too.

We got back late last night from POR and had a great time! While I don't think we'll be back for a few years (we are more the beach-type), we would definitely stay there again.

We checked in Sunday evening. We had orders from both Garden Grocer and MouseHouseConsierge. I had to call back about our GG order as bell services didn't check room temp, freezer and fridge storage areas the first time...but that wasn't a big deal. We got settled in and went to dinner in the food court and our luggage was delivered shortly after we returned.

We were in building 14, room 1410. We did reserve river view and requested a first floor room.

The storage SUCKS!!! But, we made it work for us. DH and I lived out of the suitcases, but had drawers for our sons (11, 7 and 3). I ended up on the murphy bed one night and slept very well.

The buses were fine. We always caught one shortly after arriving at the bus stop. We did have to stand a few times, but I expected that. It's a lot like traveling by the metro in DC when we traveled there. We tried to get our kids seated if possible and then DH and I stood.

The boat to DTD was nice, but a decent wait to catch one to go to DTD. Coming back wasn't too bad.

We were at the parks from morning to night so did bring our dinner back to the room a couple of times at night, if we didn't eat at the park. With the activity level of our boys, that was easier.

The pool was fine, but we only made it once...didn't want to miss time in the parks!

Arcade....not surprised, but overpriced.
