I'm checking in on Friday (actually I just did online check-in!) and have a royal guest room with a river view booked.

I know the 2 bldgs I may be placed in, but are the river views actual river views? Or is it like those "water view" rooms where you can see a fountain if you crane your head around the corner and close your right eye? I don't care much about the actual view honestly, moreso the location of the room. A true river view would be in the front of the bldg, facing the river, correct?

Wow where the heck have I been.... Andre, BackstageGal, Stan, all my good friends whats been happening? Anything brand new? Been super busy sorry everyone.

Hi Venom! :wave2: The only new thing is that the lobby rehab just started, but nothing but construction walls so far.

So we leave on Friday and of course, my DD is sick. She has had a stuffy nose and cough. One of her close friends went to the Dr. Today and she has strep throat! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I'm going to call my pediatrician tomorrow and see if they will call in an antibiotic just in case. I certainly don't want to spend a day of our vacation sitting in an urgent care. :sad1:

Yeah very nice! Just getting minor paint or something? Or some changes physically? I need a CM position there lol. Pull some strings? Lol. Thanks for the info. Hope your having a great day!:wave2:

New floor tiles and new check in desks, the kind you can walk around, like they are putting in at Art of Animation. And maybe a new chandelier. I think it will be a whole new look, but not sure what the final result will look like.

You dont want a CM postition if you even want to vacation at Disney again, LOL, unless it's a retirement supplement.

I am soooooooooooooo excited! I just changed resorts from CBR to POR in a Royal Guest Room for our stay at the world 8/28 thru 9/4/2012! We have never stayed at POR but from what I am reading, I think we will be very happy with our change.

Does anyone have a suggestion of which building to request? I have a disability but I don't require a true handicap room. I will be renting a scooter to use at the parks and I am a bit concerned about the accessibility to the rooms.

Anyone have any advice?

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope she feels better soon. I would not chance it if her close friend has strep, I would get her seen by the dr. before you leave home.

You really don't want to chance just having them call something in & miss the mark. If I found myself in your shoes, I'd want the Dr. to see her and look at her throat just in case. You can always ask for an antibiotic and a prescription syrup for her throat in person. Strep is no fun  I'd pack some vicks vapor rub, tissues and a thermometer for good measure. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

If you're flying it may be a good idea to have some lollipops or something to keep her chewing to help aleviate her ears during take off and landing if she's already stopped up. Good luck - I hope she stays healthy and you have a great trip :goodvibes

Thanks for all the tips :). I might see if grandma can take her to the dr tomorrow. She was scared to death earlier when I mentioned that I might try and get her into the dr. I thought it was because she hates that strep test. A little while later she said "if I have strep throat, do we have to cancel our vacation?". The poor thing was worried I would cancel the whole trip! No wonder she was worried about seeing the dr.

Keeping my fingers crossed that she feels better for your trip.

But i liked the check in the way it was :sad1:

You should make your arrival day about things you want to do. I like to go to MK even if its just to walk around and get a snack. I just like to see the castle and say "Yes I am here" we usually spend the evening in DTD. My son and husband love DisneyQuest. My daughter and I love shopping. It's the best of both worlds.

Yeah I would still. We could never get enough of Disney. Lol

Sue M - T-Rex is one of the best and you must ADR as walkups don't get in at meal time. They do not take DP and it is not cheep but well worth your time and money. One of a few we do every time.

Hey Venom, I am with you. I will retire soon and would love a job at WDW. Even picking up the trash, just to see all those youngsters faces.

The next best thing would be to be in charge of PUSH!

I have this great picture of my DGS4 kissing PUSH. I asked him why he did that and he said "cause he told me to give him a big kiss". I am amazed how many people have never heard of PUSH.

I would be happy moving up to photographer or supervisor at poly. But I'd miss POR also. So maybe I can have two jobs lol.

Ohh and good morning everyone!
