Now that we are paid for the trip, I just have to patiently wait.:surfweb:

Booked Garden view, requested Magnolia terrace, hope we get it, our plane arrives around 5p so hopefully we can get the one we want, can't wait.

:banana::cool1:

We returned from our trip last Thursday and had a great time. POR was beautiful and we would return in a heartbeat.

The resort honored my room request (#38), so we stayed in a refurbished room. It was a nice room but a little tight for our family of 5 (kids 11,9,and 6). My wife thought I was crazy, but I took some photos of the drawers under the murphy bed. I saw that people were asking about them before I left. Did someone already post them? If not, I can post them soon.

We used all available space for clothes. The kids each took one drawer under the murphy bed and the adults used the space above the closet and all hangers (we requested 10 addl hangers after we arrived). We also cleared out the drawer between the queen beds and used the bottom of the coffee maker stand. It worked, but we needed to "organize" everytime we returned to the room..the kids throw clothes everywhere.

I have some pool pics showing spring break mid-afternoon crowds that I will post soon. I'm still getting caught up at work...

Welcome home! Glad you had a nice visit and looking forward to your pictures! :)

Hi! I have booked a king bed room for early August. I was just wondering what type of view can I look forward to? Not a big deal! I was just curious.:)Thanks

Just booked a T-Rex lunch for our check out day at POP which is our check in day at POR.

I'm super excited, I think it's going to be so cool to arrive at POR via boat :sail::boat:

We've never done a split stay before but I know I don't want to haul all my stuff to DTD. I was told I can call luggage services at POP and they'll transfer it, but can anyone tell me will I then need to claim our stuff at POR or will they just deliver it to our room (like how ME works)?

Thanks!

I believe your luggage should be waiting for you at bell services when you check into POR and they will bring it up to your room once you arrive.

We arrive Wednesday. I called this morning and attached a request for a refurbished room to our reservation. I have no preference between AB and MT, so either will be fine. I do hope for the queen beds though.

The pleasant person at POR that I spoke to on the phone asked if I had any other preferences. I mentioned that a corner room would make me feel like the luckiest guest in town. I can't wait to see how it all turns out! :dance3::woohoo:

King Bed rooms can have any view type or location (they exist outside of the normal room categorisation system in their own little parallel universe :) ).

So add a request for whatever view you like (even for preferred building or river view if you want) and if you're really lucky you might get it. However, please be aware that there are far fewer King Bed rooms than other types, so it's a bit more hit and miss depending on how many people are already there and what rooms happen to become free on the day you arrive.

Loving POR so far. We arrived at 6 am yesterday and they had a room ready for us in AB. I asked if there any rooms in magnolia terrace and there was one ready for us there as well. Every cast member has been extremely nice! It is a big resort but that's not a big deal to us. I only wish I could get wifi straight on my iPad. It keeps going out after a few seconds.

Excellent, glad you got yourself the location you wanted too. Nice to have somewhere to call 'home' when arriving at 6am. Good luck with the wi-fi issues - it's worth checking if you get the same problem in the lobby that you see in your room.

If you are looking for a corner room with two windows, you might want to make that clear at check in. I requested a corner once and got a corner...but it only had one window!

.....about the murphy bed.. isn't there a weight limit? When you pull it down, is it suspended right above the seat or does it rest on the seat? I think it looks like this murphy bed can sleep a child under 8 or under 70 lbs. They look small from the picture.

Here is a closer look...

We had the drawer too full and a shirt fell behind the drawer in the cabinet. It took me a few minutes to figure out that you must remove the drawer to get to the item. There are little latches on the side of the drawer that release the lock.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Is there a weight limit?

The bed rests on the seat, but it is also uses some type of hydraulic hinge. When you first pull out the bed, it releases very slowly for safety. In fact you can pull on the tab, then walk away. It takes 10 seconds or so for it to get to the full open position.

The bed seemed very sturdy. It could easily sleep an 8 year old as long as they aren't too tall...my 9 year old slept there a few nights. I think a person's height would be more of a limiting factor than their weight. My 11 year old seemed to be a bit too tall for the bed and chose not to sleep there. I'm sure he could have slept there, but with too smaller children, they were more comfortable. If you are concerned, the hotel could probably provide the actual weight limit.

Checking in Sunday morning for our very first stay at POR! Its an adult only vacation with hubby and I and we booked a RGR!!

Never having stayed at POR before, are there any special requests that I should add to my reservation?

4 more sleeps!! :cheer2:
