If I book two room only ressies, AB preferred, is there a good chance I would not have to change rooms to start my package stay?
Also ( I know, I know..a lot of questions!! ) we have have a small ( and I mean small) RV . It is about the size of a FED EX sprinter extended van ) It fits in a regular parking spot but sticks out about 3 feet. Will this be an issue?
Continuing bookings are something that the room assignment team looks for on a regular basis. They see a lot of these, especially around the start of the
free dining periods where people need to split their booking to take advantage of the opening date of the offer. They make every effort to avoid anyone needing to change rooms, although it's not 100% guaranteed of course. The fact that you have two rooms booked will help as they won't want to move two of you if at all possible.
Make sure you note on your requests for the first booking to have it linked with the next one (and also fax the resort 3-5 days before arrival). You will need to pop back to the front desk to checkout/checkin again on your changeover day, but it shouldn't be a problem.
You will have no difficulty with parking, I've seen all sorts parked there! You may prefer to park a little further away from the building, on the other side of the parking lot, if you feel your RV is too large for the nearby spaces, but see how you go.
Does anyone happen to have a picture of a "river view" booking category room in the AB section? Im curious what the view from outside your door would look like? Thanks
View from standing outside the door of an upstairs room in AB building 14:
It is an awesome site and I'm glad you decided to save some time.
Just out of curiosity, how often do you make it to POR?
Thanks again for the compliments.
We go about once a year, but usually for a two-week stay. Some years we'll maybe do two shorter stays, but with the length and price of flights from the UK it's hard to get over any more often than that.
The CM insisted that his puter said that 14 and 15 had garden view rooms, so we put in our request for building 14, 15, and 16. (I am thinking about calling back and having building 17 added just to be safe.) Does building 14 have garden view rooms that aren't preferred?
The CM was a little confused. Yes, there are many rooms in the Preferred Locations which happen to look out over gardens/bayou. However to get one of those, you need to have booked it as a
Preferred Room rather than a general Garden View one. See the floor plans on my site for details of which which rooms fall into which booking category, e.g. for building 14 you will see no 'Garden View' category (i.e. green) rooms at all:
So yes, if you've booked a Garden View then put in a request for 16 or 17, which to be honest are just as close as some of the officially Preferred rooms.
I just have a question . My mother will be with me and we will be booking a room at POR, most likely in a standard room. She will be renting a
scooter for the week and I just wanted to know which room areas are the best. Is it true that there are no elevators in the AB section and will they automatically put you on the first floor. And will you need to call ahead of time to let them know
Yes, there are no elevators in Alligator Bayou so it is important she asks for a ground floor room and explains the reason. Does she need any other accessibility options, such as extra handrails next to the tub or even a wheelchair accessible room? If so, speak to the people on the Special Assistance team on 1-407-939-7807 to get something appropriate set up.
Currently, we are booked from 4/1-4/5 at POR in a Garden View room. We haven't stayed there before. We want to be close to transportation and the pool. Where would you recommend to ask for location-wise? Also, do you think we should do Riverview instead - it is only 75 more. There is 2 adults (my sister and I) and 3 kids ages 6, 6 and 3. We are only planning for 1 stroller for the 3 year old.
Just ask for a location close to transportation and a pool - however the main pool is pretty-much in the middle of the resort, while the bus stops are all around the outside, so it might be a bit of a compromise. You could get close to transportation and to a
quiet pool though, see the map in the first post to get an idea of the layout and give you some thoughts on what choices you'd like to aim for.
Do the King rooms in AB have the murphy beds? If not, what's there in their place? Thanks!
Yes they do.
Thank you so much!!! I'll do just what you said. And BTW.... Andre is the best name ever! It's my DS's name too

Thanks!
Are you sure? Because I've got PassPorter guidebooks from both 2007 and 2009 that say 180 days. (The 2006 book says 90, though.)
They changed the booking window from 180 to 90 days in December 2008, when they were working on implementing a new computer system (which would also allow online booking to be provided later). For a few months the window stayed at 90 days, and then in October 2009 it went back to 180 days overnight (causing mayhem, and the system to go down, in the process - people were trying to make 90 daus worth of new bookings all at once!)
