Is it possible to get a kettle to boil water at POR? Last time we used the coffee pot to heat water to make tea - it is not hot enough though.

I will be checking into POR in early August; yippee! Just wondering how hot it will be taking the boat to DTD? I know it's hot and humid in August (been several times during the summer), but will there be enough of a breeze to cool off during the boat ride? Or will it be stifling?

I've been to POR and POFQ 3xs in August and don't ever remember it being too hot on the boat. Maybe it's because you are so grateful to be sitting down and not in the sun lol. If it is hot and sunny, figure out which way the sun will be shining on and sit on the opposite side of the boat.

It's an open boat so I think this is why it's not so bad. I have been on boats from DHS/Epcot to the Beach Club that were enclosed and hot.

Me too :(. Plus I like 2 or 3 cups in the morning. Is is possible to get extra pods?

wonder if you can request regular coffee maker

Just got back last night and we were thrilled with the new rooms! We stayed in bldg 38 and the beds were so comfy!

We brought our own coffee & filters and we were surprised to find the new coffee makers. We did ask at the front desk for an "old coffee maker" and they delivered one to our room within 30 minutes. :thumbsup2 whew!

The drawers under the murphy bed were small but big enough for each of our kids to have one. There are small shelves by the fridge and DH used that while I used the shelf above the hangers. Hanging shirts. We had plenty of room for our family of 5.

One thing we did notice on this visit that we didn't before, the noise from the next room was bad. We heard their door shutting ALOT and at all hours.

The new campfire was fun, pool activities were too! We didn't get to do a movie, but hope to next trip! :cool1:

We got our mickey mail today!!!!!! I guess that means we have entered the final stages of our count down. WOO HOO :cool1::yay::dance3:

My guess is no, but that's just a guess based on the other things that are not allowed. Maybe someone else knows, but they do have a microwave in the food court that you could heat water in.

I don't know if the resort can supply one but we bought a small kettle from Walmart - cost about $10 - for our trip to ASMovies :)

I finally did it!

I stopped 'umming and ahhhing' about which resort to book and made reservations today for Dec to the Royal Guest Rooms .... so excited!!!

Thank you so much! I'm really excited to be staying here, and think the boat to DTD sounds fun!

Am I missing something here? Where are you going to heat a kettle at POR or ASMo? The last time I stayed at those resorts I don't remember seeing a stove in the room. Unless you're planning on bringing a portable stove or rubbing two sticks together I don't think it's gonna work.

Electric kettle I assume. That's what we use for making tea in our POR rooms anyway, we have one stashed away in our Owner's Locker.

We did try bringing a travel kettle, but they take ages to boil on the low USA mains voltage so we found it better to get a cheap domestic US one from WalMart.
