ok, I havent downloaded picts for awhile, so I hope this works well.

Worked perfectly, thank you so much.

For some reason my confused brain thought you were in a Royal Room, LOL. As you're in AB, could you maybe snap a few closeups of the backstory details around the room too? Things like the wording stamped on the 'packing crate', the text on washboard under the sinks, and anything else you spot. There's lots of hidden Disney detail in there - e.g. AB 2292 means Alligator Bayou 2-Feb-1992, the resort's opening day, and 'Willie' refers to Steamboat Willie of course. Closups of the bedspreads and other soft furnishings if there is any extra detail in those too.

LOL, I don't ask much do I? :)

By the way, are those TV channels listed as HD actually displaying in HD? And does channel 96 still give you the lobby cartoon loop (it used to work, unofficially, but don't know if it still does).

We leave tomorrow!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

I am half excited and half panicked... worried I might have forgotten something!!!!

We will be leaving tomorrow also:dance3:
Hoping to start the 7-8 hour drive by 3pm CDT, so will not be arriving until around midnight. We will do our best to be quite, but I cannot control those noisy luggage wheels:laughing: DD's still do not know we are going for spring break, DW will be making disney cookies tomorrow to make the official announcement:cloud9: Cannot wait to see these Royal Rooms.

Thanks so much disney*mom*82 for sharing the photos, I'm loving them!!! I can hardly wait until we go and all these photos just add to the excitement. :thumbsup2

Hi all,

I'm considering staying at POR during my 2013 trip. There will be 2 adults (both 37 yr. old females), 1 young adult (18 yr. old) and 1 child (4.5 yr. old) so I am concerned about there being enough space to store our clothes because I hate living out of a suitcase and prefer to unpack and make myself "at home" while i'm on vacation. How much drawer and/or clothing storage space is there in a room with 2 Queen sized or double beds? What do you do for storage?

ETA: we'll be there for, at least, 8 days.

Hi! I'm new to the boards. I've been stalking this thread for a while and I'm loving all the pictures! My family is staying at riverside the last full week of September. It will be my 3rd trip to DW, but my husband and our kids' 1st. Though I have never been for more than a day. We are staying 5 nights with 4 days at the parks.
My question is....how many pirate "adventure" options is there to do? I read somewhere that one departs from Riverside, but I didnt know if it was old info or not. It's hard to navigate though the DW website for the "extra" things to do.
TIA!

The Pirate Adventure Cruise is available at a few of the resorts including POR. The one from POR is called the Bayou Pirate Adventure. I have it booked for my twins for our August trip.

There's 4....we were told my a lot of Cs's and our travel agent that the one out of the Grand Floridian was the "best"....our girls LOVED it. What they meant by "best" however? NO clue. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about any of them, other than people complaining about the limited lunch choices...

There is the Albatross Treasure Cruise at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort, Pirate Adventure Cruise at the Grand Floridian, Islands of the Caribbean Adventure at the Caribbean Beach Club, and the Sassagoula River Adventure at Port Orleans Riverside....

Albatross: Wed and Fri 9:30-11:30 Kids 4-10 $28.17 lunch incl...407-WDW-DINE

Pirate Adventure: Mon, Wed, Thurs and Sat @9:30, 2 hours. Must be potty trained, 180 day ressies.... Kids 4-10, 24 hour cancellation or pay full price, $28.17 lunch incl. 407-WDW-DINE

Islands: Sun and Tues, 9:30, 2 hours. Kids 4-10, potty trained. Lunch incl.
$28.17 407-934-2850

Sassagoula: Sun, Tues, Thurs 11:30-1:30 Kids 4-12, $28.17 407-934-2850

HTH!

Just wondering...what are some thoughts on Riverside vs. French Quarter? I don't have an immediate trip planned at the moment (although if DH would let me, we'd have a trip to plan for every other month but alas I must find a way to subdue my WDW obsession) but I've never been to either resort, as you can see from my sig. Lately I've fallen more and more in love with pictures and info of both places and keep going back and forth on which one I'd like to stay at next. Any thoughts? Fingers crossed...we'll be going to WDW next summer!! Thanks!

With the Clone Wars Avetar, the DH being represented as Darth Vader and the two cats named Luke and Leia Im going to go ahead and assume that you have a Star Wars fan or two in your house. If you are looking for another reason to go to DW you can remind your DH that Star Wars Celebration is being held in Orlando at the convention center this AUG. This will only be the 6th Celbration held in the US in last 13 years and who knows when/where the next one will be.

As far as what resort is better between the two with the young children I'd suggest Riverside the pool is nicer, there is more to do and, you have Yee Ha Bob! I also think a younger family would be able to handle the size of the resort without any problems.

Hey Everyone!

We're booked at POR for one night before our DVC stay for Spring Break. According to the first post on this thread, only a few of the Bayou rooms have been re-done. We're 6 people (3 Adults 2 kids and a baby--it's just one night!) and we are booked in AB.

Are they accepting requests for Rehabbed rooms? I plan to call tomorrow and ask since we could really use the queen sized beds and the pull down would be superior to the trundle.

Any advice or updates would be great! Thank you!

:goodvibes

I used the drawers for most the kids clothes (there is more room than you think, you can atleast fit some shirts and under clothes. Then the cabinet next to the fridge fit our pants/shorts and some tops and then I did ask for 20 more hangers and hung all that I could.

I know this has probably been answered somewhere in this thread (it would take me to long to read every page again) but I see that there are 3 drawers for storage, how big are they? Also are there any other drawers for storage that I am not seeing? We've never unpacked when we travel, just live out of the suitcase, but for our trip in May, I thought I would try something new and unpack, then I can put the dirty stuff in the suitcases. Just not sure the exact amount of space there is to store stuff.:confused3

Yes it's a big thread, but your question was answered by disney*mom*82 (who is staying on-site at the resort at the moment) two message before your posting.
