How long would it take to go from POR to DTD then to Boardwalk? I was thinking some day we may take a boat down to DTD then spend some time there then go on to Boardwalk, but I didn't know how long all the transportation time to each would be. Also what kind of entertainment do they have at Boardwalk? Is there a listing you can get somewhere of what they will have and at what times? We will be going the week of May 20-26th if that makes a difference.

UGH the princess is sick with a sinus infection. Thankfully we caught it early and is now on a 5 day course of antibiotics. Now please lots of pixie dust that no one else gets sick.

disney*mom*82, thanks for the photos and information. I'm not sure how I'm going to make it the next 4 weeks before I get on the road. :yay:

Leaving tonight for our first trip to POR and WDW! Very exciting! I can hardly wait to see those Royal Rooms tomorrow!

Never use the DTD bus hub to get to a resort from POR, only on the return trip. With waits for "Deadheading" buses, you could wait up to 45 minutes for a resort bus at DTD.

You are better off going to a park that day that is closest to BW; DHS comes to mind, because the boat ride is really nice and the dock is just a walk up from the bus stops. You don't need a park ticket to get the boat.

At Epcot there is also a dock, if you are already in the park; takes you on the loop as well. (YC/BC/BW/Swan/Dolphin).

Use the DTD bus from BW to get back to DTD; then take the water taxi back to POR. You won't wait longer than 20 minutes at the resort; it is about a six minute walk to the dock, and then the water taxis run every 10 minutes after 4 pm.

There's 4....we were told my a lot of Cs's and our travel agent that the one out of the Grand Floridian was the "best"....our girls LOVED it. What they meant by "best" however? NO clue. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about any of them, other than people complaining about the limited lunch choices...

There is the Albatross Treasure Cruise at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort, Pirate Adventure Cruise at the Grand Floridian, Islands of the Caribbean Adventure at the Caribbean Beach Club, and the Sassagoula River Adventure at Port Orleans Riverside....

Albatross: Wed and Fri 9:30-11:30 Kids 4-10 $28.17 lunch incl...407-WDW-DINE

Pirate Adventure: Mon, Wed, Thurs and Sat @9:30, 2 hours. Must be potty trained, 180 day ressies.... Kids 4-10, 24 hour cancellation or pay full price, $28.17 lunch incl. 407-WDW-DINE

Islands: Sun and Tues, 9:30, 2 hours. Kids 4-10, potty trained. Lunch incl.
$28.17 407-934-2850

Sassagoula: Sun, Tues, Thurs 11:30-1:30 Kids 4-12, $28.17 407-934-2850

HTH!

Thanks!!! I have a 4yo who will turn 5 at DW and another on who will be 20mo when we go.

Any details in the room that you think are fun - lights, curtains, bedspeads, etc. would be great.

Also, could you maybe get a few snaps of TV-Channel #17, showing the new TV Station line-up in detail, so I can update the site with all the new numbers?

And depending on your camera, some shots of the new outside details at night? I can't wait til I'm back in August, and I'll try to get some low-light time exposures.

What else... well I wouldn't mind some pics of the evening food-court menu boards if you happen to be over there between 5pm and 10pm any day?

Hope you are having a great time now the initial issues are behind you.

Andre

I'm back home! Got a bunch of detail pictures of the RGR. Just going through my zillions of trip pics now, will post them in the next day or two.

Ok we got our Mickey Mail over a month ago. I didnt know it at the time but we didnt get our bright yellow luggage tags....I thought those hologram tags were the ones we needed.

A week later I found we were gonna need more luggage tags so we call Magical Express to get extra tags...they came in the mail a week later and they were those bright yellows ones. Thats when I realized those were the right ones. I called Magical Express and said that we needed a couple more since they only gave us 3 of them.

A few days later we get another Mickey Mail...this one had the 3 bright yellow tags along with a short note saying they forgot to put them in the original Mickey Mail.

This past Monday we got the couple extra yellow tags from Magical Express. So now we have 9 bright yellow tags lol No biggie

We just got home and on our door step was a FedEx envelope and inside was a complete Mickey Mail with vouchers and hologram luggage tags but no yellow tags :lmao:

I'm wonder if we should call Disney about it....which one do we bring the first one or the second one or both :confused3

Welllllllll, our trip is off to a late start! DW had an emergency at work today and we would not have been able to start the 7 hour drive until 8 CDT. So we have decided to just pack everything into the van and then take off at 3AM(6 hours from now) I did learn something today. When it became clear we would not be heading out today I called the reservation number and told them our issue and they were going to change our ressie from 8 nights down to 7, but could not because we had did online check-in. They had to give me the direct number to POR and I had to call them to get this taken care of. The Royal rooms will have to wait until tomorrow:)

OMG, we are arriving 9/24 with DD turning 5 the 26th, and my younger DD will be 19 mos! Too funny...and my in laws are joining us.

If you want to explore The Boardwalk area it would be better to go on an Epcot or DHS day.
From Epcot World Showcase exit it's a short walk over to The Boardwalk, of from DHS you can take the boat, or a 20 min walk.
