Because I'm such a crazy anal-retentive planner :rotfl2: I'm trying to figure out when is a good time to go next year. Easter will be on March 31 next year and dont wanna go during Easter/Spring Break.

We do not have to go during school break so the dates are a bit flexible. Really wanna go in March but wanna go when its not super crowded & possibly a little bit cheaper rate. So when's a good time?

We were there 3 weeks ago in a refurb room in Mangnolia Mansion and I can confirm that the base and the upper mattress are queen size. Maybe what the person was confused about was that the bottom mattress is on a plinth which is slightly smaller than the base mattress, this allows you to stand beside the bed easily without having your feet right up against it, and also stops you from putting stuff (or losing stuff) under the bed.

We were also in a refurbished room in Magnolia Terrace in January, and both the mattress and box spring were definitely queen size (I actually checked, because I had read on this thread that it was just a queen mattress thrown on top of a full size spring... and I couldn't believe they would actually do that!).

We also had a connecting room with my parents, and had no issues opening the door. The rooms were absolutely lovely!

SOOO Excited!!! It's official, we will be at POR for NYE!! I had booked out RGR just to make sure we got what we wanted but was hoping I could find reasonable airfare or I would have canceled. Well... I got my reasonable airfare today, WOOOHOOO:cool1: So super excited to go between xmas and NYE and so excited to stay at POR in the new RGR. YIPPY. Weekend is off to a great start!!

Will there still be trundles in late August? I can't believe they'd take out that option for the families of 5 :(

No, all of the Alligator Bayou rooms will have Murphy beds by then rather than the old trundles.

I will be leaving 2 weeks from today! :cool1: I started packing last night and will have all 3 children packed by the end of the weekend. :thumbsup2

I did email WDW about my concern with the queen bed situation. I didnt think it would get me far as I have made a few phone calls and I never get anywhere. I got a call back today and was at first told it was just a request. Then we got past that stage and she did say yes, at the time we booked it was stated 2 queen beds but she insists you are never guaranteed your bed size. I asked what if we were at CBR, which all rooms have queen beds (I think or most) would I not of gotten qn beds, her answer is you never know when they might need to take out a bed for some reason. I told her lets be more realistic. I was nice about it, but stated this is not an issue of them needing to take out a bed for reasons, it is the refurb not going as fastly as they anticipated. Long story short, she understand my reasoning behind why queen beds are so important (we have some health isssues and having the room in bed is really necessary) and said she still will not guarantee the beds, but will work closely with POR management to try to get us the room.

Im still not happy, its just what I expected. But, I will keep on a positive note and hope for the best. I think it is pretty lousy of them to not be willing to assist those of us who booked POR being "guaranteed" queen beds.

She did offer to look at other resorts for me and I explained with a family of 5, I would have to go deluxe and I am not going to take that price jump this close to the trip, had we known, we might of booked under a different discount and a different resort. I just cannot add that much more to our trip cost with all the trips I still have to make to the hospital 200 miles away with my 2 children in the next two weeks. Nor should we have to.

Anyways, good luck to those who are going to POR now and soon, I know there is several of us. Ill post many photos when I return. If there is anything in particular anyone wants to see, just let me know and Ide be happy to take a pict for you.

I just don't understand when they, WDW, advertise that you will get a queen and the room sleeps 5 why they can say it is only a request. You in good faith placed a reservation from their description. They (WDW) should honor that or offer a discount and if that does not work as in your case provide an upgrade at no additional cost to the customer. After all it was not the customers screw up. I believe Coronodo (SP) has suites?

I wish anyone with this problem a enjoyable vacation!

As in the case of the Murphy being to small, I think we came up with an idea.

We will book one room for 5 and pack a twin air bed that takes little room.

Now maybe we are back to our 12 day POR 2013.

Is there a bus from POR to TTC? If yes, how frequent is it?

We are a family of 5 headed down with my parents, and will likely get 2 rooms at POR. Our last trip, just the 5 of us stayed at POLY, and we would stay there again- but it's not in the budget since we are traveling with my parents. We like to eat at OHana, and the kids will do the Pirate Adventure Cruise from GF...so I need to find out if we can easily get to TTC via bus- or do we need to hire a cab?

Sorry if this was covered...I couldn't get through all 2000+ posts! :)
