Awesome!!! I'm not a fan of the room decor at the Poly but the room looks nice and spacious! And the view:worship::worship::worship:!! WOW!

Enjoy and share as you can.....(it has been 40 minutes since your last update:rolleyes1):lmao:

That stinks :( So eventually POR will eventually serve only families of 4 for the most part then it seems.

Those murphy beds look small! I hate how high off the ground they are, no way either of my 3 year old twins will be able to sleep on that!

I was thinking this too. When I called, the CM told me the murphy bed mattress is the same size as the trundle bed mattress. :confused3 I was thinking that maybe we'd end up putting the mattress on the floor similar to how the trundle was. Except I don't know if there is enough room with the new queen beds....

But really, we're at DisneyWorld.. We can put up with some inconvenience.

Oh! Good idea! Why didn't I think of that? :) I would love two queens, but would rather have the doubles if it means having that Murphy bed. Will be anxious to hear about people's experiences with it.

Just booked for November, checking in Thanksgiving day for 6 nights!! Super excited. We have never been at that time. I did not make any requests, we are a family of 5. Just wondering if the refurb will be done or should I request a refurbished room? Not really sure how the murphy bed is going to work out with my boys. 2- 12 year olds and a 13 year old that is as big as an adult. We are planning on taking 2 air mattresses so it might be a little tight. Not really going to complain cause we are just super excited about the trip. It is a surprise trip the boys are not expecting.

Will they have queen beds in all rooms, even the ones with the murphy beds?
Should I make any requests? I'm assuming that its going to be close to sold out at that time?

Thanks everyone.

We're here now. In building 36, a refurbed room. The resort is really pretty and serene. The walk to the front building is kind of a pain, but managable. There are 5 of us and we've been living out of suitcases because the 3 drawers for storage are quite small.

All that is managable, but my big problem is that we've hit on a stomach virus!! It started a couple days ago with my son and daughter, and this morning with my husband and other daughter. I'm the only one still standing. Sleeping on the floor because I can't even think of sleeping in the same bed that those that have been sick are sleeping in. Ugh. What a mess. We must have caught it at DW because we were here almost 4 days before it hit. We're going to be wasting tons of dining credits. And my daughter was supposed to do the 5K tomorrow. Totally bummed. I've been a crying mess because I've felt like I had to stay close to the resort in case I got sick. The resort has been helpful by bringing extra blankets and pillows for me. Still quite bummed though. We never get sick at home!!

Looks like fun! We were so happy we did the split stay thing last summer with Riverside and Grand Floridian.

I will be leaving 2 weeks from today! :cool1: I started packing last night and will have all 3 children packed by the end of the weekend. :thumbsup2

I did email WDW about my concern with the queen bed situation. I didnt think it would get me far as I have made a few phone calls and I never get anywhere. I got a call back today and was at first told it was just a request. Then we got past that stage and she did say yes, at the time we booked it was stated 2 queen beds but she insists you are never guaranteed your bed size. I asked what if we were at CBR, which all rooms have queen beds (I think or most) would I not of gotten qn beds, her answer is you never know when they might need to take out a bed for some reason. I told her lets be more realistic. I was nice about it, but stated this is not an issue of them needing to take out a bed for reasons, it is the refurb not going as fastly as they anticipated. Long story short, she understand my reasoning behind why queen beds are so important (we have some health isssues and having the room in bed is really necessary) and said she still will not guarantee the beds, but will work closely with POR management to try to get us the room.

Im still not happy, its just what I expected. But, I will keep on a positive note and hope for the best. I think it is pretty lousy of them to not be willing to assist those of us who booked POR being "guaranteed" queen beds.

She did offer to look at other resorts for me and I explained with a family of 5, I would have to go deluxe and I am not going to take that price jump this close to the trip, had we known, we might of booked under a different discount and a different resort. I just cannot add that much more to our trip cost with all the trips I still have to make to the hospital 200 miles away with my 2 children in the next two weeks. Nor should we have to.

Anyways, good luck to those who are going to POR now and soon, I know there is several of us. Ill post many photos when I return. If there is anything in particular anyone wants to see, just let me know and Ide be happy to take a pict for you.

I emailed Disney too and a lady was nice enough to call back and I also explained that we had booked because Queen beds were listed. We have 3 adults and 3 kids (1 baby) and while 2 queens and a trundle or murphy are just fine, fitting us into double beds was just not going to happen so when they had switched the description back to doubles and we called had called about it we were forced to switch to deluxe in order to accommodate our family comfortably. The nice cm said that they do not guarantee rooms but in this "special" situation that she would guarantee us a refurbished room if we wanted to switch back to POR. I had just paid off the reservation the day before so it seemed senseless at that point. It was worse because the money that was set aside for the dining plan was used for the deluxe upgrade but Disney did not care. Falsely advertising queen beds was just a mistake they said. Oh well we have it taken care of now. It is set and we are going to stay in my dream resort so I guess in the end it worked out but it seemed like they never realized they would be called on the carpet by people who really need queen beds and not doubles.

I did a behind the scenes pic taking last night. Those who know me, know what I am talking about.

I feel so sorry for you and your family, that stomach bug (noro virus) has hit hard here in Mass in the last few weeks. Kids have been off this week so hopefully things will settle down.
