She said one problem was that they had a few trial rooms set up for CMs and other staff first and there was photos of them taken and they had to change a few things before they were sure what they were doing for all the refurb. and she hates the public to see the picts and when the arrive feel they are not getting what they expected.
Actually I do know what she means, and when I put any pre-opening photos on the site I
always include wording to the effect that they are not complete (although that is usually fairly obvious).
I guess it's in the nature of people being enthusiastic fans of something that they always want to know stuff far quicker than the corporate gears can ever grind. And the internet allows someone with a camera-phone to snap something and have it uploaded to the DIS in a few seconds. You only have to check out all the photos of the Fantasyland expansion (or any other works at WDW) to see that; people were virtually hanging out of Dumbo ride-vehicles snapping pics of the work on the Beast's Castle.

And once someone has posted about it on the DIS, I don't really see much difference if I re-post or talk about it on portorleans.org (with the OP's permission of course).
However as for the comments about preview room photos: I have not put anything on my site other than officially released press preview pictures that were also posted on the
Official DisneyParks Blog. I did ask whether I would be able to get any other preview photos while I was at the resort last year, and was very nicely and politely told that they could not allow that at the time, and I fully respect that.
In fact, I couldn't have been more impressed and pleased with the warm and friendly response that I got from all of the staff that I spoke to (right up as far as the Port Orleans General Manager) and especially with the generosity of their time in helping me get some nice detailed photos and panoramas in a variety of newly opened room types.
I told her how a CM just this past Fri thoguht I was crazy for asking for Qn beds as they "ARE STANDARD TO ALL POR ROOMS". Of course I tried to tell him otherwise but he wasnt having it. She replied it is those CMs that I wish I could yank off the phones.
Well on the plus side at least it's not just me she hates...

I really do think WDW really needs to get its own house in order when it comes to the accuracy of its guest-facing information before pointing fingers at other people. I wouldn't mind being criticised if there was an official source of information for forthcoming guests that wasn't so seriously flawed - for example regarding the Garden View Queen Bed booking descriptions, about which I raised concerns as far back as October last year.
Just in case anyone is thinking of sneaking some pictures of the RR refurb, they put a fence around the building, so good luck with that.
Good plan of their part! Not open to any misinterpretation as to what is 'off-limits' that way. As I'm sure you're aware, if anyone had asked me to remove any early-peek photos then I would have done so immediately - but as no one asked me to, I kind of assumed that the implication was that it wasn't a big issue over a matter of a few days. And as I said, the pictures would still be there in the original visitors' DIS postings/etc anyway - that genie never goes back into the bottle as easily as it came out!
