Hey are you seeing this over at poly thread, we are being looked at as scum, getting the upgrades we are.

I just saw that. How pathetic. It's just the sore loser syndrome. Jealousy over something they wish they could have. Check out the thread for the OMDD sweepstakes. Someone is claiming they 'won' a trip, has received paperwork and returned it to Disney.....and all these people posting saying they don't believe the op and claiming without a photo of the paperwork they are lying.

I'd rather just send out positive energy :goodvibes out into the world and hope it comes back to me!

I'd LOVE an upgrade and to win a trip!!! Odds are small. I'm not going to be rude to people who got them just because I didn't.

We just booked Oct 13-17 in a Royal Room standard view with a 30% discount! I've never stayed at POR. My friend and I are so excited!:goodvibes

Sweet!!! You get there just a few days after my and my kids leave!! I can't wait to see the Royal Rooms in person!

My very same policy. I enter that new contest but don't expect to win. Because of the odds that is. But I won't get mad if someone else does. Good luck to everyone who does.

Hi everyone,

I have been reading this forum for quite some time, but this is the first I have posted. I am just curious I have a reservation in a 5 person room at the POR in late March, and was wondering if anyone with this room category was getting upgraded? From what I have seen on the Internet it seems these rooms are also currently getting renovated from a trundle bed with doubles to a Murphy bed with queens. Anyway, I was just hoping some of that pixie dust could fall on us with larger families too. Here's hoping.

Thanks to all.

No. The upgrades are only happening mid Feb until March 9th because people were booked in the new ROYAL ROOMS but they are behind schedule. Because the rooms will not be available they are upgrading those people to Deluxe resorts to make up for it.

First off welcome to the DIS! When do you arrive in in DW? As time goes on more and more buildings will be refurbished with the Queen beds. If everything goes according to plan they will be done by the end of Aug.

Last year we stayed at Acadia House and loved it. It was already renovated when we went. With just the four of you I would think that they would hold a mansion room for you. Who knows with a little Disney magic you may even get free upgrade to river view.:wizard:

Thanks for the welcome, we are arriving Sat 29th Jan. I'm just hoping that seeing I put in a request preference for a particlar manor that is renovated that we get that one and their won't be any problems.

We're scheduled to check in at the POR Royal room on 3/28. I hope there won't be any more delays with the Royal rooms.

Hello all. We're lucky enough to have had a trip opportunity come up real quick and we ended up at POR. First time in either a Deluxe or Value and don't know much about POR other than what I read in the last couple days. Sounds and looks great but a little big. We are staying in a 'River View' room. Is there somewhere that lists what rooms they are. I've seen layouts for the poly that color coded the different views. Anything for POR? I just noticed from Google Maps that there are only 8 or 9 buildings these could be. So that's cool, no far away boondocks building.

Go read the very first post in this thread! :goodvibes POR is a moderate category resort. I haven't stayed there yet but I like the layout of it!

Hopefully not. The rooms look like SO much fun! But then look at some of the people have been upgraded to POLY Theme Park View rooms! That's an amazing dose of pixie dust!!! :wizard:

So here's what I think is the above information about where the River View rooms are:

...but to be guaranteed a River View you will need to book that as a category. Preferred Location guarantees you a room fairly close to the main building and bus stop, located ONLY in Alligator Bayou lodges 14, 15, 18 and 27.

I was thrown off by River View mentioned first then Preferred Location used next. Now that's strange. As I look at the map, Bldg 15 is surrounded by parking lot and other buildings. So is that a preferred location and the others are the River View? Although, either way, I'm happy.

I'm a March 8th date and haven't heard yet. I'm hoping today or tomorrow since several with March 7th dates got calls yesterday.

Ugh! I was really hoping you would have been posting with your 'the call' story .... sorry you have still haven't heard but maybe today is the day!!

Fab news Debrn and I hope this starts off a new fantastic year for you

Thanks. Yes the start of a great new year

I've enjoyed all the drama with the upgrades. It's been very entertaining.

I'm also wondering how empty the resort will be when we're there Feb 18-22? Is anyone else going to be there those dates?

We'll be there at the same time - Feb 19 to 26. I know it's president's week and predicted to be a high attendance week, but hoping that we still are able to do lots of stuff. We're a party of 5, so not affected by the upgrade drama at all. This is my first time at this resort, so I have no idea about the layout or any idea how busy it will be, but crossing my fingers!!!!;)

Hey venomhatch--

I had my DH call Disney last night, hoping he'd have more luck than I've had. The CM he spoke with did give him the number to call of the team handling the moves. But, she also told him that it's possible that the room we booked (RGR, standard view) would be complete, and that could be why we haven't received our call yet. From my understanding, this is just the company shpiel, right? I thought I had read here about others in standard view receiving upgrades as well. From your contact at POR, none of the rooms will be ready correct? He did leave a message with them with all of our information, we'll see if this is enough to stir the nest, whether through us directly, or through the TA. At this point, I'll take either option. Just wanted to see what your thoughts were since you spoke with the room manager at POR.

Thanks! :goodvibes

First off I would be calling the TA, since so many have reported a message being left to call Disney back, it is quite possible the TA has dropped the ball.

Also I have to wonder if booking through a TA is similar to the person who reported she booked thru Expedia and would not be upgraded to a Deluxe resort? I can not recall if anyone on here has been upgraded who used a TA

I hope you hear something one way or the other I would be half-crazed waiting if it were me.

Good Luck

Stinkerbellsmommy- we're in the same boat...standard view booked through a TA, and as I recall the same dates. I can't imagine they would put people in a building where construction was going on all day but maybe they will- I don't know if its been done in the past. I emailed our TA and am hoping to hear back from her this morning- although she's technically not in the office until this afternoon. I'll feel much better if you get a phone call since that means I'll probably be receiving one too.

Really, I don't care either way as this is the only time we'd be able to stay in a RGR- we have an infant as the 5th member of our party so after this trip it's out. My girls would have loved it so much so if we end up being in those that's awesome and if we get an upgrade that's just a bonus.

Okay, I just got an email back and the TA said that anyone who hasn't gotten a call is guaranteed a royal room. She said she even called again this morning and was told the same thing- that our reservation was fine and we would be in a royal room.

Still no call for me.....:confused::confused::confused:

I booked through disney. I have tried calling so many times and all I get is people who have no idea what I am talking about, or someone tries to transfer me to central reservations and tells me "they are aware and will send you to the specials team." Once I get to CRO, they of course have no idea.....

We check in March 3rd for 9 nights. Is there anyone else left that booked right through Disney that still has not been called, or is it just me?

Does anyone that has already been rebooked have any phone number I can call?

Thanks!
