I know it is frustrating but when I asked them they said that they still had a lot of people to call and they would get to you. They are going according to checkin date and they are calling about 100 people per day and they split the list among a few people and there was still a lot of availability.

Thanks for trying to cheer me up I guess I'm just frustrated because we have a March 4 check-in, so once those with the March 3 check-in got their calls, I assumed we'd be up soon. I just have to stop getting my hopes up, and it'll happen when it happens. I'm also partly scared that I won't get all the travel docs in time because we're actually leaving a week before our check-in date because my husband has some work sites he has to visit on our drive down. Once it's all settled, I can relax and get back to packing. I know, I have a planning sickness haha.

If it makes you feel any better we're still waiting and our check in is March 4. I'm hoping to hear from someone soon- I emailed our TA this afternoon once I read this thread.

WOW! Another poster who was upgraded was asking about CL and everyone was saying they doubt very much, after their upgrade, they would then get CL plus there is no TPV in the CL building.

Good for you Venomhatch! You've worked your ticket on this and been rewarded for it, I am so pleased for you - I love go-getters Really can't wait for your trip report.

Yeah there is CL TPV. Hawaii building is CL and it has a side that faces and is labeled TPV section.

From what I know of the POLY if you book CL you are guarenteed to be in the Hawaii Bldg and that is the only Bldg that houses CL so TPV CL would have to be in the Hawaii Bldg. I am still amazed they upgraded for free....talk about major pixie dust

You need to pop over to that other thread then and tell them You are going to have the most amazing vacation!

Just got CLUB LEVEL, Hawaii building, TPV, 3rd floor at the POLY!!!

Just called and asked if I could have that building and level with a preference on 3rd floor.

They said yes sir.

Aren't you the one who said we shouldn't shake the boat too much and be happy for the upgrade in and of itself? Seems to me like you're changing stuff around every couple of days....

In a small way(very small) I am glad we did not book the royal rooms since we too are checking in on March 4th and all this time waiting I would be stark raving mad by now

I hope you hear something soon, having to wait for the TA to be contacted and then contact you would drive me a lil nuts too.

They are the people who had booked the Royal Rooms at POR - the rooms are not ready, construction/refurb delayed so they got upgraded.

I was only inquiring about the building, didn't know it was CL, but they said it was when I asked about it at reservations, and she said let me see if it would let her do it and it did. So it wasn't like I was being greedy. I just asked about a building that looked like it might have a better view of the park.

I've just heard back from one of the resort managers about this (and from another DISer) and sadly for some, the above is confirmed as correct. The new definition of Garden View as an extra category had to take place resort-wide on 1 January ready for the new booking year, and it would have been too complex to repeatedly tweak it as the refurbishments went go along. So at the moment a good number of the available Garden View rooms will be from the non-refurbished sections of the resort - i.e. they will still have double beds not queens.

They are trying to get the wording changed on the website as soon as possible, but in the meantime he is aware that some guests with existing bookings may be a little disappointed when they don't get queen beds, and his team will be trying their best to help out where they can - but obviously there are limits to what they can do, especially when the resort is near capacity. The situation will remedy itself naturally over the next eight months as the refurbishment program nears its completion.


Also, he confirmed how the distinction between Standard and Garden works, which is pretty much as I thought it would:


Standard: euphemism for lovely views over the parking lot
Garden: mansion gardens, bayou landscape, courtyards (including the fountains, ponds, streams, etc) - but NOT parking lots
Water: swimming pool views
River: erm, well, river!

I booked on Oct. 4th and the website said Queen then. I don't understand why they even added that QUEEN BED description to the website until the refurb was done. Our party was there for 4 nights in one room and 5 nights in another room. Both were booked per description on the website. The place was not full on our dates Jan. 6th through the 11th. There were rooms empty and no one was on the other side of us the entire time. It totally irritated me that we didn't get queen beds. We would have booked elsewhere.

Yeah your right, I am happy where I am now. I do follow my own advice to I was only asking about the Hawaii building. I didnt know it was CL til the Disney Team member said it was. She said it let her reserve it for us.
