Thank you to a special CM out there who threw some pixie dust our way, and shared some helpful advice! We hear a lot about some CMs who don't know what they are talking about (I had the unfortunate opportunity to get frustrated by one recently), but thank goodness for all the great ones that are out there (two of whom made my day)!! I know there are many more of the good guys to be found! :thumbsup2 Can't wait for our trip to POR/AoA in May/June!

And WOW! to that ice cream picture...looks like we are definitely making a stop! :woohoo:

10 days for us!:banana:party:
But I gotta wonder if those Royal rooms are gonna be ready. Hope they do not smell too much like paint fumes. :confused3

looks like they have a ways to go yet. Ten days just does not seem like enough time to finish..although you should of heard from a CM by now.. Keep us posted

Yes, that's what I'm thinking-if they're not going to be ready someone should have contacted me by now. And I just switched my reservation from a standard view to garden view RGR a couple of days ago, so they're still taking bookings for mid-March.

Answering the OT:
We love:lovestruc Beaches and Cream!! It is a "burger joint" but if you like ice cream, these are totally worth the trip!!

now back to your regularly scheduled thread....

Oh dear, I've given up chocolate for Lent and am now rethinking my rash decision. :rotfl: That certainly looks yummy, and we just might have to try that place in April.

Regarding the royal rooms, I would think that crews could make some major progress over these next several days. I don't think it takes a long time to get a room done. It's good to see the pics though

I have a few questions.

Are the AG rooms getting queens also? I'm trying to convince dh to stay here instead of CBR. So I'm getting my list ready for him. Also is the slide a good one ? I love POFQ but the slide is pretty tame. Will the rooms all be done by August?

We are giving up our wp&m tickets to stay at a moderate this year we are going for 10 days so we will have at least 2 resort days. So the pool has to have a cool factor.

10 days does not seem enough to me also but you never know. I have already instructed everyone in the house that if any phone call comes in with 407 area code they are to answer it and give it to me asap. :lmao:

Hopefully you will be there when someone orders "the kitchen sink."

It is 8 scoops of ice cream, all the toppings and one full can of whipped cream, served in a.... kitchen sink.

I have been there once when two people ordered it and they couldn't finish it. The people at the next table "helped them." It was too funny!

And there I was with my two scoops of ice cream with chocolate fudge sundae. I couldn't find room for dinner that night.

The only place more sinful is Ghiradelli's in DTD; another one where I just grab a sandwich at EOS or a salad at WPE and then have a sundae.

These are a few years old, but you'll get the idea. We barely made a dent! This WAS dinner that night! (It's vacation, right?) When your server brings it to the table, lights and sirens go off!

We are leaving for POR in three days! I'm so excited, this will be our first time at this resort and I think it looks beautiful. I've visited in the past while resort hopping, but have never actually stayed there. I've never received a bounceback offer and am hoping to get one while there as I hear they can be a great deal. My question is, how great of a deal are they? Are they better than the 35-40% off rooms offer that was out for the spring?

We are gonna try to go Monday after EPCOT. We are gonna hire a sitter from Kids Nite Out and go late evening and then come back for a few drinks at the lounge.

Oh my goodness!! Look at that wonderful dish of heaven!! I think you have convinced me that we need to check this place out!!!!

It is wonderful and yummy! Everyone should give it a try!! Enjoy!

One more hijack for this ice cream! Is this a QS or TS restaurant? Do they take DDP? Is a regular sized sundae a snack/dessert?

Thats all....thanks! :lmao:

It is a TS and they do take DDP, just not reservations. The sundae pictured is not on the snack credit, but if you order a meal it is your dessert option. My DD and I are going to split a meal and get our own sundaes!! (paying OOP for this meal) Wonder how many Weight Watchers points that is???:rotfl:

May I share my delight? Just upgraded our April stay to a Royal Room.:woohoo: I am sure they will be open by then. Our dds, 21 and 18, will be so surprised. Our last stay was 10 years ago at CBR. We are looking forward to the beauty of Port Orleans. Thanks for listening.

Yay, congrats! I did the same thing last weekend. My DD is 10 and done with the "princess" phase, so I didn't think she would want to stay in a Royal room. Boy was I wrong! Once I showed her pics of the concept room, she was begging me to stay in one. Now I'm looking forward to our trip even more!

Anyone?

Thanks

POR pool slide is much better then POFQ, here is a very good you tube of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfyokCf9cbU
Yes, all rooms are getting queen beds and a total make over. August is the current completion goal for the refurb, so the majority of the room should be finished by then. POR is a great resort with plenty of activities and is just great to walk around at. I hope this helps, don't forget POR has quiet pools also:)

Just 17 days until we head south to get out of this chilling weather here in northwest florida:laughing:
