We're on the road for a few hours now. We're in Indianapolis,IN. Icy roads! Ugh! Can't wait to get the there.

We're here now. In building 36, a refurbed room. The resort is really pretty and serene. The walk to the front building is kind of a pain, but managable. There are 5 of us and we've been living out of suitcases because the 3 drawers for storage are quite small.

All that is managable, but my big problem is that we've hit on a stomach virus!! It started a couple days ago with my son and daughter, and this morning with my husband and other daughter. I'm the only one still standing. Sleeping on the floor because I can't even think of sleeping in the same bed that those that have been sick are sleeping in. Ugh. What a mess. We must have caught it at DW because we were here almost 4 days before it hit. We're going to be wasting tons of dining credits. And my daughter was supposed to do the 5K tomorrow. Totally bummed. I've been a crying mess because I've felt like I had to stay close to the resort in case I got sick. The resort has been helpful by bringing extra blankets and pillows for me. Still quite bummed though. We never get sick at home!!
I'm so so sorry your family is sick! You're living my worst Disney nightmare. All the moneywe spend and work planning and then everyone's sick. I really hope everyone heals quickly!

We just passed Louisville, KY! Hello to all Kentuckians!

That stinks :( So eventually POR will eventually serve only families of 4 for the most part then it seems.

Didn't you read what I posted? The new rooms have Murphy beds to replace the old trundles. They will still sleep five:

Hope you are having a great vaction!

LOL it wasnt like that, I wouldnt risk my job to be with Disney before actually working there. I just got invited to do the AAA special viewing of fireworks and didnt even have a res for it. I just walked up and asked lol.

I hope you are having a great trip!!!! Have fun! The photos from last night were great!:woohoo: can't wait for more:yay:

Have a blast :cool1:

Yeah no problem on the Panoramic shots. Its funny I walk strait into the room and then start shooting pics and video.

I called Disney yesterday because we had a pin code and there was another pin code attached to our reservation for free dining. They had to upgrade us from Standard view RGR to Garden View RGR for the pin to work and it saved us almost 500 dollars. :cool1:

Here are the shots, now the one of the view from our room I moved for a sec with the phone and caused a slight glitch but hardly noticeable, I left them at full size so be carefull it might take a few minutes...

Awesome, thanks for sharing. Those rooms look huge! Enjoy and keep the updates coming! Right now I have to live vicariously through your pictures and details. But it sure helps me get excited during my countdown.

Exciting news...good for you! I LOVE that FD PIN. To me it is like winning the lottery (almost). OK, if I won the lotter it would be DVC for me!:thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about the flu! I got sick at Disney and it was miserable! Hopefully everyone feels better ASAP!

I've been thinking about the storage space, I figure, the boys will get the drawer space, and the adults will live out of suitcases. I usually clean out the dressers with Lysol wipes and then spray with Lysol (my OCD) when we arrive. Then we put all the clean clothes in them, dirty clothes go in suitcases. That way we know what is clean, stay organized and at the end of our vacation, no packing. Whatever is left in the dressers goes into suitcases and everything is washed when we get home anyway. It saves a ton of time and the kids don't have to wonder what is clean or dirty. Same for this trip but adults will go from the clean suitcase to the Dirty one. I figure I'll put little sign on the "dirty" suitcase so the teens don't throw stuff in my clean suitcase!!:lmao:

It was beautiful yesterday. Today is going to be 70, and a bit of overcast but no rain in forecast. Sun is out now.

Here is a pano view from our balcony this morning.

I would have to get up extra early to sit and have my coffee while looking at that view!!!! I'd be wondering if the wedding pavilion at is where my DD18 will be getting married or if she has her way, it's in front of that castle!$!$!$!:rotfl:

Preferred Location guarantees you a room fairly close to the main building and bus stop, located ONLY in Alligator Bayou lodges 14, 15, 18 and 27. .

Sorry if this has been asked, I'm having trouble with the search feature. Does this mean that if you book a room at the preferred rate that you are guaranteed to be in Alligator Bayou in a room that has the pull down Murphy trundle bed (once refurb is complete), even if you are a party of 4?

Thanks.

Yes, even if there is only 1 person booked into a Preferred Location, you will get a room in Alligator Bayou buildings 14, 15, 18 or 27. At the moment only 14 has been refurbished so far, but the rest should be done by the summer.

I have booked a standard room...

Where is the best location I could "request" and have success with getting a better room, at very minimum with queen beds, and as close to the main building as possible.

We are going mid August.

Just made the down payment on the trip May 27-Jun 2.

Requested Magnolia Terrace in the Mansions. Last time we were here was in 1995 when it was Dixie Landings. Now just counting down the days and hoping nothing goes wrong before we get there.

:goofy:

Aww, poor you. I hope everyone feels better. :(

Hi all!!
We will be staying at WDW after our Disney Cruise in January 2013. I am just starting to think about where we might like to stay. We like to try a new resort every time. So far we've been lucky enough to stay in 8 of them by doing split stays each trip. And of them all (deluxes included), POR has been my favourite so far.:)

My question is will all of the AB rooms have the new murphy bed once the refurb is complete?
I prefer AB over the Mansions so I was just curious. We are only a family of four and while it would be neat to have a room with the new murphy bed option it won't be a necessity.
