We did it in 2009 and loved it. Cash only. But it was very romantic and pretty sites to see they even have blankets to make it cozy warm!

Do you HAVE to make advance reservations? Hubster & I are planning on using kids nite out babysitting services one night and take a carriage ride but we dont know which night....we were gonna play it by ear.

When we originally booked the room back in Nov nobody said we qualify for free dining. I found out about it here on disboards. When we call about it she said our room didnt qualify for it. She did try to find a way to keep the royal room and get the free dining but it was a no go. She asked us if we wanted to downgrade to a regular room in magnolia bend. We were fine with that as long as we got queen beds. Then she upgraded us to the deluxe dining for free. We saved a considerable amount of money. To us that was more important than the royal room.

Really strange they told you that because I booked my sister's honeymoon for her with that free dining promotion in the Royal Guest Room. We also booked in November for her March stay!

Yeah I know! I know there are some here that got free dining with the royal room. But honestly its ok...the room wasnt all that important. Being able to save several hundred bucks is more important. That we way we have more to spend on the princess & Hubster too since he's like a little kid in a candy store sometimes :rotfl2: We will definitely do the room next year.

You got Deluxe Dining for free?

You don't have to, but there is not a lot of walk-up availability - there are sometimes 'no shows' though. When you get to the resort and you've decided when you would like to do it, give them a call and see what times are available.

according to what our final balance due thats what it sounds like...unless my math is off

I was just surprised because I was under the impression that the mods either got quick service or regular dining plans for pins/promos, however if you get deluxe, then SWEET for you! I share your same attitude of pleasure over the bonus money savings vs. the loss of the royally decorated room. I hope you have a fabulous trip!!

Yeah what Andre said. No reservations, but I'd call them when you arrive and check with them on availability.

We alos enjoy CSR, but POR just has more family activities. We will be doing the carriage ride again this trip so that our youngest DD can enjoy it:) The first time we went, my DW was pregnant so I got a bottle of sparkling cider and some plastic champagne glasses to celebrate. Our oldest DD, then 4 had a great time and thought she was a real princess:love:
FYI; DW and I are Michiganders, born and raised in Detroit, left in '84' and we occasionally go back to visit family.

DH and I have lived in Michigan our whole lives. We live about 35 - 40 minutes southwest of Lansing.

Just a thought but I thought I read that for different promo's they only allocate a certain number of different rooms for each promotion. So maybe they only allocated a certain number of RGR for that promo and when you called they were all gone so you needed to get the other type of room. I also, think you are probably paying the difference between the DDP and the DLXDP. I've never heard of them giving that one for free. Either way, sounds like you got the deal you wanted so enjoy your trip. can't wait to hear everyone's reviews when you return.

Thanks to this wonderful thread and the unofficial PO website, we chose this resort and are really looking forward to our trip! So far so good, no weather up here in the way to cause us a travelling delay, and the Florida temps are predicted to be warm! It's been a tough year for me with family medical issues, but everything is stable right now, and we can sure use some disney magic.:)

Yeah thats my thought too. The CM just said I'm gonna upgrade you to the deluxe dining because she saw that thats what we already had.

I just used my free dining code to switch from Pop Century to one of the new royal rooms at Riverside and I'm so excited I just had to share!!!
I've been trying to get POR for weeks but nothing was available with the FD code except king rooms. It's just me and my 21 year-old son this trip so a king room would not work. Finally after checking daily the new royal rooms became available on Friday so I switched our reservation.

Can't wait to see the new rooms!!! :thumbsup2

Are Friday nights crazy for Yeeha Bob? Thinking of making 6:30 ADR at Boatwright's and catching Bob after on our arrival night. Sounds like a great way to start our vacation at POR.

Thanks for clarifying for me. I'm really hoping for a public free dining -no pins or anything rec'd for us so far. We have a room only at POP but after reading this thread, I would love to move here but we need the dining discount to make it all work. We stayed at POFQ but haven't at POR yet - I was concerned about the buses because POFQ was our worst bus service ever but that was back in 2001 so I'm sure it's better now. The resort looks so lovely & it's the only mod we haven't tried yet (same for POP, haven't tried that value yet but I'd rather do a mod)

Can someone tell me about Yeeha Bob? I see it mentioned a bit and am wondering if someone could fill me in.

Thanks

The promo was for regular dining plan but you paid a the difference for the deluxe. I want to say it was about 30 a day person (give or take)!

We also book back in Dec. Orig at POFQ with 20% off deal. Called back a week later for the RR and the CM gave us the RR with the 20% off and free QS we had to upgrade to the DDP. But the offer was for free QS only.

No offense meant at all, but no offers can be combined - so you couldn't have gotten both the 20% off the room and the free QS. Perhaps the CM didn't know the rules? Have you checked your invoice? Regardless, have an awesome time! :goodvibes
