Hi,

We're looking at staying at Port Orleans for 2 nights before our cruise.

Does anyone know what time the shuttles for Canaveral are likely to start leaving and when we might arrive at the port?

Thanks!

We are staying at the french Quarter before our cruise. Shuttles pick up anywhere from around 11:00 to 12:30. I think when we stayed at Riverside the last time, we left around 11:45. We made a couple of stops to pick up at resorts nearby. Port arrival time is around 1:30. If you wish to arrive earlier, renting a car or taking private transportation is the way to go.

Thanks for that. Whilst we are trying to keep the whole end to end holiday Disneyfied, the later arrival time at the port is putting me off! Our PAT is 11:30am (which I believe becomes null and void if we book the Disney shuttle) but those 2 hours seem like wasted time especially as this is our first cruise!

As boarding normally begins around 11:30-11:45, if those extra hours on the ship are important to you, I'd go with non-Disney transport.

It is a later arrival from the parks. We have done later (when we stay at parks before), earlier boarding (concierge or MCO or rental car) etc. Being your first cruise, earlier might be better thus private transport or rental car. For us, we don't mind getting there after the crowds and basically just walking on. The rooms being ready to drop our bags is also a plus.

We had a very similar experience, timewise. We bookended a stay at POR around a cruise once. The later port arrival time is, in a way, less hectic. You can pretty much walk right up to the counter, check-in and and then go get on the ship right away. As long as you don't want to make any reservations or anything right away when you get on the ship, it is no problem. The rooms are probably open already, so you can drop off your bags and then head to Cabanas for lunch.
