I have a couple of questions.

We are booked at ASMovies... but now we are thinking about switching to POR.

We are a family of 4.

I am reading conflicting information. Are there 2 beds with a roll in shower available at POR?

I am concerned about the bus situation at POR. I know resorts share buses.... and I'm worried each bus will be fulll by the time it gets to us.

Thanks!

We stayed at POFQ in December. The few times there was an ECV passenger at a POR stop I felt so bad for the ECV riders. I don't think they managed to ever got onto our busses. The seats were already full though I'm not sure of the rules regarding moving people around if there's an ECV waiting but the bus is already loaded from previous stopes. I think a couple of the drivers ask people to move from the ECV seats but in those cases the lift ended up broken. I can't imagine how horrible it was for those people.

If you're interested in a PO resort, I think the POFQ transportation will be a lot easier. Other than DTD busses (and there are boats for DTD so you can always use those instead of the busses as long as it's not raining), POFQ is always picked up before POR so it's very easy to get a spot on the busses.

Note that I don't know anything about what kind of accessible rooms there are at either resort as we don't have any mobility issues in my family. I'm just reporting what I observed as far as the busses go.

We stayed at POR 3 years ago. My DS is in a wheelchair. The accessible rooms do have a king bed, but they have connecting rooms. Call Disney Disability line. They will comp you the 2nd room for free. (It's a Federal Law).

We stayed in room 1400 and 1402. We have to rent a hospital bed so CM's came and removed a nightstand, moved the King bed against the wall and took out the table and one chair. We had other equipment to store. We had plenty of room to manuvre the wheelchair, and to get between the 2 rooms. These rooms are close to the main building and the bus stop. Great location. The resort is wonderfuly accessible. My DS loved to walk the paths. In order to get out of the main building you will have to go through the quick service restaurant, (which was perfect for us) Or just ask at the desk, for the quickest accessible directions to your room.

We went in Oct, which is perfect weather wise and crowd wise. We had no trouble catching a bus. I think we had to wait for a second bus twice during our 9 day trip. And even on those occasions, the driver would radio for another bus, and in minutes we were on our way. We only used Disney Transportaton on our trip, with no problems.

Hope this helps. Hope you have lots of magic on your trip:wizard:

In 2003 they had rooms in POR with 2 double beds and a roll-in shower. I stayed in on in the Alligator Bayou section and one in the Magnolia Terrace section. This worked out great for us since it was just me and my daughter and we really didn't want to share a bed.

Things may have changed since then but in 2003 they weren't all king sized bed rooms when you needed a roll-in shower.
