Port Orleans Resort-French Quarters, Anyone?

I have, but more than 10 years ago. For what it's worth, I really loved the whole Port Orleans resort area. Assuming you don't have park tickets, the boat to Disney Springs is great. Much more fun than the resort buses.

Not the French Quarter side. It's a really nice resort, there is one sit down restaurant and a large food court, as well as a large pool. Main building is nice, with shops, as well as a lounge. The buildings on the French side are quite neat looking, elegant architecture. Lots of parking available. Some ways away from the parks, but buses are available. Can also take a boat to Downtown Disney area. Lots of trees. We enjoyed our stay there.

Yes we have stayed there prior to multiple cruises. It's my favorite resort. As Shmoo said the boat is very convenient, and a fun little ride to Disney Springs. I love New Orleans and it is a Disney version of NOLA. They even have beignets, not quite the same as Cafe Du Monde, but still good. I feel like it's a good value. We always end up walking around on the paths, and often walk over to Port Orleans Riverside. Last cruise we stayed at Old Key West and I didn't like it at all, wished we would have stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter.

POFQ was a lovely resort. The boat ride to Downtown Disney (or whatever it's called now) was great and relaxing. It'll be a nice start to your trip. :) Enjoy!

Love this place...usually where I stay, the size of the resort is small compared to all the other properties, easy to get around and very easy for Downtown Disney.

We are only staying one night before the cruise. Anyone ever stayed at this resort? :mickeybar
We stayed there the night prior to our last cruise. Loved it! Kids had the pool to themselves during the afternoon. Room was the same as all the moderates, but the grounds were beautiful! After staying at Coronado, POFQ is so much more convenient (size-wise). Our room was the farthest away from the main building but it didn't seem like far at all.
Most of us grabbed the boat to DTD for shopping and dinner. The breakfast was just ok, IMHO, but C'mon.....you'll be eating like kings and queens once you get on board! :)

We'd definitely consider staying again, but we are opting for staying at the beach this time.
Enjoy!

We stayed there before both our cruises out of Port Canaveral. Love it. It is so convenient to what was once Downtown Disney. The boat ride was very nice. My DD, who was much younger loved the pool. The resort is one of my most favorite themed resorts in all of WDW. It is a moderate resort so the rooms are a bit smaller, but for one night, we thought it was perfect.

Port Orleans is my home away from home. I truly love the resort. PORFQ is the smallest Disney hotel, very easy to navigate. Don't forget to visit its sister resort POR Riverside. You can find many activities there such as biking, pole fishing and horse carriage ride. Andrew's site at portorleans.org will provide the best and up to date information. Enjoy.

Yay! Booked. It's a little early but the cancellation policy is great. Hope never to need that lol. Can't thank you all enough for the positive vibs about this resort.
