HI! I was wondering if I could get some help here... I have got myself so excited to come to POFQ (we have stayed in CBR and POP) I want to try different resorts since there are so many. Anyhow...I saw some where on here people talking about POR and POFQ (and which one was better) I want to stay in a refurbished room (POFQ) since not all of (POR) are finished....any way we will have a car so buses are no problem. But I know that after a day at the park we will want to go to the pool and relax...this is just so hard and I think DH is making a mistake by saying we should switch resorts..... I like the look of some of the rooms @ POR (but again we arent guaranteed to get the refurbished ones....HELP!!!!!!! SO CONFUSED

you can use pools at both resorts. i just got back from fq and the pool was always rocking, they looked like they were having tons of fun. I actually prefer quiet pools which pofq does not have but it's only a few minutes walk over to the other resort, I think someone said 5-10.

We are looking forward to our 1st stay at POFQ too,we chose it mainly for the refurbed rooms and queen beds but it is also more compact and an easy walk to whatever you need from what I have been reading.

Hi, I'm a little overwhelmed here seeing 180 pages.. Can somebody please tell me what building 4 faces? Are all the rooms refurbished by now? I already booked this resort already and was trying to decide which buildings to request. Thank you!:dance3::yay::santa:

All the buildings are now refurbished. 1/2 of building 4 faces the parking lot (with a pretty interior courtyard outside your door before the lot) and 1/2 faces the interior streets/courtyard of the resort. It is the closest building to the bus stop and food court. Check out portorleans.org and you will find a map with details.

Can you still get a roll away/cot at POFQ?

Cot, yes.

Roll-away is still up for debate. Many people have still been successful, but resort management have indicated that these will beds be withdrawn at some point due to the size of the new queen beds.

That might be good for my 3 yr old.

How much is cab fare to the nearest grocery store?

I'm not sure about a cab to the grocery store but have you checked out gardengrocer they will deliver right to your resort. We have used them several times great service and selection.

I called POFQ and asked about a cot in the new queen bed rooms. We have teen DS & DD which do not and can not sleep together, POFQ said no cots in the room....
But I posted a question on this board a few months ago about the POFQ queen beds and a twin size areo bed.
It was suggested by other DIS'ers to place the twin size areo bed between the queen bed and the POFQ room window.
Then during the day, just prop us the twin size areo bed against the wall.
We will bring our own sheets, use an extra pillow from one of the queen beds and ask for an extra blanket to use on the twin areo bed.

We have a $19 Coleman twin size blow-up bed. We will bring a battery operated air dispenser to blow it up. The Coleman twin bed will be tossed out at WDW and the battery air dispenser will come home (it is good to use to blow up pool toys).

Yes, but I cannot seem to find any beer/alcohol on their site. Am I overlooking it?

I called POFQ and asked about a cot in the new queen bed rooms.

What are you meaning by 'cot' here? Do you mean an infant cot (for example a Pack'n'Play cot, a crib-sized bed with vertical sides so a baby does not fall out) or more of an adult sized bed of some sort?

Baby cots are available at Port Orleans, but roll-away beds are more of an issue with the new queen beds. From what I've been reliably informed, Alligator Bayou at Riverside will soon be the ONLY section where extra beds can be provided. However the information being given out to guests by some cast members does seem to vary at the moment.
