Back home yesterday. POFQ was lovely. We were located facing the car park in building 1.

Not an exciting photo, but here are a couple I couldn't find before I went away... presenting the Laundry Room!!!

and The Children's Playground - I did see some of these, but I thought I would capture them from a wider angle (at sunrise)

They will be permanent, I'm told. Don't know about chairs though...

Andre

My room faced out to the grassy area where movies were shown. People were bringing blankets or sitting on the benches (mostly parent's watching the kids run around, you can't really see the movies from them). No chairs that I saw.

Those of you who have been recently, does the laundry room require quarters, or do you have to use your KTTW card? Last time we were at the Contemporary, and you could only use the KTTW card for laundry. I just want to know if I need to bring quarters.

Thanks!

It's quarters at present, but there is a change machine there. Using your KTTW card would be a great idea!

We just returned from a 10 night stay at the resort, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. The staff was great, with mousekeeping taking especially great care of our room, leaving us a few towel animals. We had a minor problem at one point, but it was cleared up by maintainance and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in room 3333 and enjoyed our outside corner location. I am sure the climb up the stairs and down at least twice a day was great for our health.

To all of those who are about to visit - I wish you much pixie dust and a magical vacation!

3 days to go for us, online check in done and room preferences called in :thumbsup2

Hey Neighbor! We're in Vermont too! Glad you had a nice time at POFQ! Can't wait for our 4-peat in 307 extremely long days! hahahahah!

Just got home today from a great stay. I think we got an upgrade to a river view room, we were Bldg 5, Room 5324. And we can't wait to stay again in November.

No complaints but a word of caution. One afternoon walking back to the bldg, next to the grassy courtyard area where they show the movies, there was a black snake on the road. We reported it to the front desk who said they would notify pest control. Just want everyone to be aware with kids running around playing in the grass there and watching movies at night.

That's nice that the movies are a permanant addition! BFF was just at POR and said her family went over to FQ to watch the movie one night and it was so nice.

I was able to use the Disney Visa code offer on my existing reservation for February 7-14 and saved another $250 over my AAA discount. I'm not sure what the total savings were since I didn't know the total without the AAA discount. The CM just told me the difference between my old total and my new total.

Has anyone else been able to use the code? I think it opens to the general public on the 5th.

We are mostly settled in our new house/city after the move this weeekend. Now trying to catch up on this thread. Only 22 days to go...getting excited!:cool1:
Keep the pics and reviews coming!

Will be there February 4-11th. Never stayed at POFQ before. I think I'm just as excited about the resort as I am about the parks. Can't wait!

Snake!!! I saw a black snake as well, really tiny all black/dark gray with a reddish orange ring around it's neck. I looked it up and it's a common non venomous grass snake. It was sunning itself one morning on one of the cobblestone ramps up to the rooms. They like moist undergrowth so it was probably just peeking out from the flower beds when it realized I was coming down the ramp it scurried on back to the mulch.

We didnt get close enough to see any markings. My DH saw it first and then grabbed my shoulders saying "Let's go this way instead" and as I looked back I saw it. It did go back into the bushes but it appeared to be pretty long.

On a funny note, we did decide that FQ must be a lizard sanctuary! Saw plenty of them and much better than a snake anyday!

Glad your DH saw it in time. If that had been us DD's scream would have scared more people than the snake :rotfl:

We were away over the weekend and last night I found my Disney Visa email with news of the 2012 discounts in my spam filter! I sent off a quick email to my TA and she called me this morning. We had been holding 2 separate bookings; one for POFQ and one for AKL. (Yes, I know I could not have done that directly with WDW, but with the TA it was possible.) Disney accepted the 30% off for the AKL pool view booking but said that for our dates they could not give the 25% discount for POFQ. So I went ahead and splurged for AKL. POFQ had been my back-up in case a room discount did not become available for AKL.

You have all been so helpful on this thread and I'm sure I'll love the FQ for some future trip.

I had a great time this trip at POFQ. The redone rooms are really nice and other than one bus breakdown in POR late one afternoon when the buses were being shared, I didn't run into any transportation issues.
I was by myself instead of with grumpy husband and whiny DD and I was uninjured this time so I'm sure that made a big difference.

I was in Building 1 facing the parking lot, room 1212.

I didn't see any snakes but did see a turtle one morning.
