POFQ lovers, how far is it to walk over to POR? I heard they have a make your own pasta, but POFQ doesn't. If that's the case, I would like to go over to POR and I hear they are sister hotels adjacent to each other. Is it close enough to walk? Thanks in advance

I walked it. It was totally doable. I am sure someone else may know exact times... but we did it with our (at the time) 5 year old.

We walked over from POR to POFQ during our trip in August and it was about a 5 to 10 minute walk, could be as much as 15 min. if you were in the back sections of AB. Nice walk over!!

If you particularly want one, I'd suggest putting in a request for an external corner room (external so that the extra window doesn't end up looking into a stairwell or similar)

EXTERNAL!! That was the request I was asking you about Andre in regard to corner rooms. I couldn't remember what you had said about requesting a corner room and not wanting one looking at a stairwell.

So excited...we just booked 8 nights for September!!! We stayed here last September and loved it. We even talked our friends into staying here for their first trip the same week. I am hoping we can get close to the same room we had last year. Does anyone know if I request the same room or close to it how good they are about fulfilling that?

First, you call the reservations people who took your booking and get your request added to your original booking in advance.

Then, about 3 to 5 days before you arrive, I'd suggest if you want to make any more detailed requests you send a polite FAX to the resort (number is in the first post of this thread) letting them know what you'd like and why, and they'll usually do their best to help you out if they can.

How do you post the link to your PTR with a name rather than showing the URL? I can't figure it out and I am going nuts!!

I know this isn't the proper place to post the question, but Im going crazy and no help from my post on the technical thread yet.

If you highlight the text that you want to show instead of the link and then click the "Insert Link" button (the globe with the chain) it will format it so that the text shows instead of the link. I hope this helps.

We are thinking of flying Soutwest. My questions are: does Southwest let us check our luggage at the resort before we return? ME does get luggage from the flight to go to our room? I have read it both ways. We don't want to deal with taking our luggage on ME if we don't have to.

We just returned Thursday from POFQ, our return flight was with Southwest, luggage was checked at the resort, we got our boarding passes at the resort as well, and we didn't see our luggage until we arrived in Milwaukee (we had a non-stop flight). It was slick! And on our flight down, ME got the luggage to our room about 2-3 hours after we arrived at the resort. Hope this helps.

I know this has been the topic of discussion here recently. We just returned from our trip to POFQ, and I remembered to take a couple of pics of the refurb area for you all.

This first pic was taken on March 6th, we had just checked in, and I happened to notice they had the gate open - so I snapped a pic of the work in progress:

The second pic was taken on Tuesday, March 13th - we had just come back from the parks for an afternoon break, and my girls noticed that part of the wall was down (the part closest to the main building doors). This picture was taken from inside the building looking out towards the pool.

I hope this helps some of you going to POFQ soon... The way it looks when we left, they really didn't have very far to go on the project.

Sorry, there's no particular link between corner rooms and King Bed rooms. Some King Bed rooms happen to be on corners, and some corner rooms happen to have King Beds - but there are also lots of queen bed rooms on corners too.

True! We were in a ground floor corner room in building 3 this past Feb 4th-11th. It had two queen beds.

Officially midnight (slide closes earlier though, when the lifeguards go off duty at 8pm or 10om depending on the season). Wouldn't be surprised to see people in the pool later than that though.

Also we will be taking ME to the airport, will I set that up when I check in??

We checked in last year between 7-8am and our room was ready. Obviously there is no guarantee that it will be ready but if you are willing to take a room wherever, your chances are better. We have stayed on property 4 times and because we drive through the night, we always arrive between 6-8am and the latest we have ever waited for a room was 11am at Coronado.
