Yes, you can get fresh fruit at the food court. Sheets, I don't know.

i was thinking about it today too. and i guess during the day we will not be in the room at all so the noise during the day will not affect us, and at night i donno how late the boats go till but i dont think they will keep us up

We stayed in Bldg. 5 not too far from the dock. The boats weren't a noise issue for us.Of course we live on the approach path of Phila. Int'l airport so a boat every 10 mins. isn't a big deal;)

LOVE the pictures! We are taking our first visit to PORFQ in Oct. Can't wait!!

This is definitely a great resort and we will stay here in the future:love:

My husband and I have stayed at the Poly the past 2 years and really like the resort but as I am looking to price our next vacation, in September again, I am realizing the Poly has gone up a little in price and at this point, even with the 40% off, I'm not sure I can justify the cost! I am looking at a moderate resort and the POFQ actually seems really nice and has numerous good reviews. Has anyone stayed at the Poly as well as stayed at the POFQ? If so, would you choose POFQ over the Poly?

We have stayed at Poly ~6 times and POFQ 2 times (POR 1 time) with 2 more trips booked for POFQ this year. Poly is our favorite resort, but it has become way too expensive to justify staying there. POFQ is now our "home" resort, we don't even consider the Poly anymore due to 1: Price is way too high, 2: our kids are older so being on the monorail loop is no longer a priority.

Today I switched my 11/30-12/8 trip from Pop Century to POFQ. I always wanted to stay at POFQ. :cool1:

Anyone know what's up with the construction walls by the lobby? They put up walls and a fence where the palm trees are. Kinda took me by surprise.

Just the usual refurb/maintenance stuff, i'm guessing?

You will be so glad you did. This is our favorite resort, all the amenities are located within a very short walking distance from the main building, and the atmosphere is great. Great theming as well, and if you get a chance, try the carriage ride around the resort. In 2011 it was $45 for 30minutes. As it thundered during our visit, we didn't get to go, but I've always wanted to tour the resort that way. The carriage ride originates from Riverside. In any event, happy planning.

I have a question.

When we booked our room, the "garden view" category wasn't an option (we booked in Sept). We booked a standard room. I am concerned that now the garden view is available for an additional cost - what are the odds that we are going to be stuck looking at dumpsters/parking lots/air conditioning units? Yes, I spent some time on the "worst room view thread" this morning - however - after doing a search for POFQ in that thread, there was only one post posted (of a tree). So, I am left a bit hopeful...

I have heard that the parking lot views really aren't that bad, since there is so much foiliage at POFQ... I guess I am more worried about the dumpsters/air conditioning units. And even then, we have the walkway outside our room - so maybe it really isn't that big of a deal?

I am just trying to decide if an upgrade is truly necessary?

Thanks! :)

We've been there twice and I don't remember seeing a room that would give you a bad view. As you said there is lots of foliage so even the room that look towards the parking lots don't look right at them.

That is good to know. I rarely open the window blinds anyway. The only time I've ever paid for a view was at AKL, and that was because I wanted to be able to watch the animals from our balcony.

I just needed to post and say how excited I am to be staying at the POFQ for the first time next month!!

I can hardly wait! :banana::woohoo:

Just wanted to drop by and say that I booked my second stay at POFQ for June. This will be my 15th trip but it's the first time I've ever booked the same resort twice. :goodvibes My first stay at FQ was back in 2010. Have things changed much since then?

Yay! You are so close! I hope you'll share a mini review for us when you return. Have a great time! :goodvibes

Thanks!!! I will do my best!!! I'll try to post pics too (if i can figure out our new camera LOL) Hope I'm not too overwhelmed. LOL This is my first trip and the first for my kids too :)

They have changed a little bit....:goodvibes.. all refurbished rooms with queen beds. Flat screen tv. Lovely resort.

I officially started getting excited for our March 2012 trip today  We are staying at POFQ and this will be our first Disney vacation with our DD(5). Today I booked a BBB appointment for DD @ the Downtown Disney location, then we'll head to Epcot for the rest of the day, and Akershus ADR for dinner. Her appointment is 10AM, which is before the boats to DD start running, so I believe our best bet is the bus. Will we be okay catching a bus around 8:30AM - we need to be at BBB by 9:45? Then, what is our best bet on transportation to Epcot from DD? Thanks for the help! :goodvibes
