Hello. Does anyone know what is the earliest time you can check into POFQ? I know rooms won't be ready but I was hoping we would be able to check in @ 7 am so we can get our KTTW and package started before heading out to MK before RD. MK opens at 8 the day our package starts. We will be staying at a value the night before. Is this a pipe dream?:cloud9:

Thanks for any info!!

7am checkin would be fine as long as you don't expect the actual room to be ready.

Officially I think the days roll over at 6am, but I've heard of people turning up in the middle of the night and actually being given a room - but don't expect that!

Awesome!! Thank you so much. Nope don't need the room. Just want to start off the day at MK to see the opening show. This will be our only chance since they changed the park times and we have ADRs at the same time now.

When do you put in your request for a particular room loaction? Did not notice it on the on line reservation form. Noticed if you require a sleep and play for your room (addidional cost). Would the option be there when you do your on line check in 10 days prior to your reservation. Is there an e-mail address to hotel direcxtly or just the general reservation e mail address?

Give the Disney Reservations Center a call on 1-407-WDISNEY (assuming you booked directly with WDW) and get them to add any requests onto your booking. That would include requesting a Pack'n'Play, for which I must admit I didn't think there was any extra charge.

Online checkin does not let you enter any free-form text for extra requests, only tick a few boxes. Also there is no direct email contact address for the resorts, only Disney's general Guest Relations address, so a phone call really is your best option.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!! Just a few hours over 2 weeks and we will be checking into POFQ for the first time!! Looking forward to it.

Hope everyone here in the US is having a great Thanksgiving (and everyone else is having a wonderful day/night!) We have so much to be thankful for this year....in 9 days my DH and parents and sister and I will be checking into POFQ for the first time as a family since 1997!!!!

We are about 90% sure we are going to WDW in June, and will be staying at POFQ for the first time. :) Very excited.

I will now go back and read the thread from the beginning. :cloud9:

We just got back Thanksgiving night from a WONDERFUL first stay at POFQ. I requested Building 5 or 2, 3rd floor, and was assigned room 5306. I was suprised that it was ready when we checked in around 11 Am!!! It was a great location, close enough to the pool, but far enough to not get a lot of noise, and convenient to the food court, shop, etc. The only negative was that it was a handicap accessible room, so only had 1 sink, inside the main bathroom. I thought something seemed off from the pictures, but didn't realize that's what it was until we walked by a "regular" room later that night. We really enjoyed the resort...all of the CM's were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed going over to riverside for the cane pole fishing (didn't catch anything though) and the pool, but my kids actually liked the pool at FQ better. We also ate in the food court at Riverside a couple of times as well...it was nice to have that option so close...it really is like getting 2 resorts in one. It was great to come back to sucj a snall resort after a long day in the parks. Bus service was great....had a bit of a wait getting to the parks on 2 days (busses were coming several times for every park but the one we were headed to) but the CM at the bus stops was calling to get one when that happened. No issues at all coming back from parks (but we never left at park closing, always well before) I do wish that there were actual lines at the resort bus stops like ther are leaving the parks..it was frustrating when people would walk right up and on to the bus in front of those who had been waiting.

Piglets Mommy - I agree with you on lines for buses at the resorts. We had the same thing happen to us all the time.

Hehe, not really  And yeah that's right, two adults from UK, all inclusive.

We got the same awesome deal as you :) But I think I may have done a bit better on our flights because ours came in at £1500 per person with flights, but for 18 nights. Not sure if the MNSSH parties would have started before you leave. They seemed to be a little later this year than last year, if my memory serves me correctly. There is no telling what Disney is going to do from one year to the next :rolleyes1

You're going to LOVE POFQ by the way. Hands down the best resort (in my not so humble opinion :rotfl2:). This is our third year in a row going back there. Poly many never happen for us, by choice, now that we have discovered this gem of a resort. It's like a second home!

I see you're leaving roughly around the same time as me. I'm guessing that the difference in price is because you're flying from a different airport. I did check out prices for all the airports around us, even London. London was slightly cheaper, but the train tickets would have more than made up for that difference :p Trains in the UK are too expensive :sad2: But since we're flying from Birmingham, which is about an hour away from where we leave, my BFs dad will drive us to the airport :yay:

Yeah I'm aware there's a slight chance we won't make MNSSHP, but I wouldn't let that ruin our holiday. Just getting to go to WDW is more than enough for me :cool1:

We're going from Edinburgh via LGW to MCO. We just hit a really good flight sale and I had to book under a bit of pressure within an hour before the offer was over. Bit of a cold sweat situation because when the site asked for my card details, I had to peel the new credit card off the backing letter to get to the code :lmao: I also moved our dates a couple of days earlier and added on an extra night which saved us £400.

Continental wanted £400 more for indirect :scared1: than what we paid for this year's flight and VA .... well don't lets even go there ... I don't have a spare £1000 knocking about just to get red luggage tags :rolleyes1

We had our first stay at POFQ a couple of months ago in August and we had a ball! Room location was perfect, close to the pool and food court. DS loved the waterslide it was just right for him. The room was clean and everyone was so friendly. Enjoy your trip!!

We fly from Birmingham too (only 25 minutes drive from home). We'll hopefully be going about two weeks before you this year, so we should be back a couple of days before you fly.

Are you flying with Continental via Newark? We've done that the last few trips and everything about it is SO much more pleasant than driving all the way up to Manchester and then paying more to fly with Virgin! Even the slightly longer time in the air doesn't seem as bad because you get to stretch your legs and have a break part-way - and go through US immigration at New York, which makes the Orlando arrival so much easier and quicker!

Sooo I had to change my trip (again!!) from Jan to May and I was looking online and decided to change it to POFQ! Called wdw up and spoke with an awesome agent who was very friendly and helpful for once lately :) Any ways they were having trouble bring my new dates up at pofq and he kept having to put me on hold. He'd come back, apologize and say that guest services was trying. Finally they fixed it and we moved on. Well teh price was showng up more than the wdw website. I jokingly said you would think disney could give me an upgrade for all that wait and we bothe laughed. He said well let me look. I'm thinging yea right. He came back and said my reservation was coming up a KING room with my 2 day base tkt (cause I had an unsed 5 day base tkt) for 8nights $1503.00!!!!! We both were soo psyched and naturally I booked right then. Maybe free dining will come along for my trip; but if not that's ok too.

Who says you can't get any Pixie Dust when you call?? :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

That's cool :) Yeah we fly Continental at 9am in the morning :) I'm hoping our 1 h 40 min transfer will be enough to get through immigrations and customs and to grab a bite to eat as plane food usually sucks (and to get change for the toll booths for our rental car as we're picking it up at the airport). Don't have any experience with Continetal though, so who knows, their food might be decent :p

It could be a little bit tight, we've tended to get the slightly later flight from EWR to MCO which gives us 2h 40m.

You have to collect your bags, clear immigration, re-drop your bags (which is very easy, right outside the doors as you exit from immigration), take the monorail from terminal C to terminal B, go back in through security and be scanned again, then get to your gate. Doesn't leave much room for delays or getting food - although you could always pick up fast food (e.g. there's McDonalds near the gates) and take it onto the plane with you.

Coming back is much easier, just step off one plane with your hand luggage and walk over to the next - one time, our two gates were right opposite each other, just had to walk about 20 yards!
