I just booked a 5 night stay at this resort(07/02/02-07/07/02) and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it. This will be my first time on site and I am really looking forward to it. Can you guys help answer my questions.

1) Bus service
2) Food court
3) What kind of water view should I expect?
4) What special things for the 4th of July should we expect at WDW?

We have stayed at the PO-FQ many times and really do enjoy it. As far as the waterview room you will either have a view of teh pool area or a view of the River. We had a waterview the first time we stayed there and since then have opted not to bother. We spend so little time in the room it really wasn't worth it to us. That being said, I think that if you are looking for a waterview we were in bldg. 5 on the third floor and it look directly out to the river. Bldg. 5 also has pool views, too. You may be able to request a pool view or river view, I'm not sure.

The bus service has always been good for us. Since the FQ is so small there is only one bus stop and it is at the front of the resort. Bldg. 4 is the closest to the bus stop. You share transporation with Riverside. There are 4 stops at Riverside. However, if it is busy in the mornings and the bus is full at FQ often you will not even go over to Riverside. They will just take you directly to the park. Other times you might only go to the first bus stop at Riverside, if it is full. It just depends. But, you are also the first one off in the evening, which is nice. There are two stations that sit beside each other. Be sure to check the signs to make sure you are at the right station for the right park. There is also a boat that you can take to DTD in the evenings. It takes about 15-20 minutes and is a nice ride. Very peaceful and relaxing. But, they are limited to the amount of people they can take so at times you may have to wait.

Can't tell you much about the food court since it has been rehabbed. Keep watch on the boards as several people promised to post a review after they return. Look for it around the 1st week of June or so.

The resort itself is very compact. You aren't a long way from anything. Bldg 4 & 5 are our favorite buildings. They are very central to everything. We like the large spaces of lawn and beautifully manicured foliage, etc. The jazz music being piped in is another plus for us.

Be sure to walk down to Dixie Landings along the river. It is a very nice walk and then you can take a look at Riverside (oops - will always be Dixie to me). There you can rent watercraft and bikes, etc. There isn't a place to do this at FQ. And, they have a great entertainer in the lounge. Kids and adults alike always have a blast.

I think dcedwards said it all! I will only add that we had a view of the river in Bldg #6 on the first floor and it was very peaceful and quiet. Bldg #4 and #5 are closer but we were fine with #6.

We were also in building 6 with a river view, 2nd floor. Nice... but we spent so little time in the room that it really didn't matter :)

If you want a view of the river, make sure that you request just that! A water view could also include a view of the pool, so be specific when making your requests.

Buildings 1, 2, 5, 6, & 7 all have river views. Buildings 2 & 6 have smoking floors. 2 & 5 are closest to the pool and spa, and 7 is closest to PO-R.

Hope this helps!:)

The standard views will be of either gardens of parking lots, or both. If you would like, request to have a garden view... it can't be guaranteed, but it is worth asking!

As for bus transporation, in the mornings, and evenings, PO-FQ has its own bus, and only one stop, which it centrally located to the left of the main building. During the middle of the day, it shares a bus with PO-R...but we never had any problems when staying at PO-R and they were servicing both resorts.

The food court is nice, featuring some Cajun specialities, as well as standards. It is smaller than the food court at PO-R, but you are also welcome to make use of that food court, or any of the other PO-R amenities, as they are sister resorts. The walk between the 2 is quite beautiful!

There will be special fireworks at the parks on 4th of July, and I believe they decorate, at least in the MK for that. It can be very crowded on that day, though!

Have a great time!:)

Hope this helps!:)
