Port Orleans Connecting Rooms Question

Our family is planning another trip to WDW this Christmas and plan to stay at Port Orleans. We will need connecting rooms and have been told that we can be guaranteed 2 rooms, 1 with a King and the other with two doubles, but cannot be guaranteed that the rooms will connect.

The CM with whom my wife reserved the rooms said that she should request a waterview room because it would be easier to accomodate the requests for connecting rooms with a King in one.

Our question, does anyone know which section, the mansions or the bayou, has more connecting rooms (one with a king). We stayed at the mansions numerous times but really fell for the bayou section when we stayed there last year. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you noticed the other threads, but POFQ is being closed for renovations. That means that there is going to be a good chance that POR will be very crowded especially around Christmas. I hope your able to get the rooms you want but I would be prepared for the worst.

I heard PO/RS was closing certain areas starting June 3rd so I would check first to see what will be available at that time.
