It's been awhile since we have cruised out of Miami. Suggestions for hotels/resorts near the port of Miami that have shuttle to port? Preferably with a decent pool area.

Also, any feedback on transportation companies from FLL to Miami hotels?

Thank you for any info!

Looking for the same info here, anyone?

Precursor: I travel a lot for work and am a bit of a hotel snob.

Am currently at the Hilton Miami downtown. It's very close to the port, but it's a rather poor value based on the quality. It really needs to be renovated, but on the bright side, the front desk staff was great.

We were just on the Magic last week and stayed at the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North. They had a free shuttle that picked us up at the airport, wonderful rooms, comfy beds, free breakfast and a free shuttle to the Port in the morning. They also offered a shuttle service to pick us up when we docked and take us to the airport. I think it was $10 a person. I highly recommend the hotel. It's not in the best area and there aren't restaurants nearby but you can order in from local places and the hotel staff were great. When you land and get your bags you have to call the hotel and they will come and get you...so sometimes that can take awhile....

The Sheraton Miami Airport was great. Well appointed and professional. I travel for work quite a bit and this hotel was really great.

Love the Holiday inn at the port. Across the street from the Harbor Marketplace with lots of restaurants and shops. A $10 taxi ride to the port. Or there is south beach which is more expensive but so much fun. We hav stayed at the Hotel of south beach in the 1700 block of Collins ave just one block off of ocean blvd. lovely rooftop pool and great location. Probably $15 or $20 taxi ride to port.

We are struggling with the same thing! We are thinking about Lowes or fontainebleau as we have heard they are both child friendly. I've also heard the ritz south beach is kid friendly as well. Hope this helps
