Disney is building their own terminal there, so it'll be nice like PC instead of a shared space like they have in Miami. Plus, the cruise port is right next to the airport, so transportation is easier. What is special about Port Everglades? Just that it's different and new for DCL, or is there something about it I don't know? TIA.

Port Canaveral is the worlds second busiest cruise port, behind only Miami. It’s actually bigger than port Everglades, not smaller.Easier access for people driving to port as you do not need to go through Miami, and often flights to FLL are cheaper than MIA. Port Everglades is not as small as PC but is more manageable than POM.
I haven’t ever done any research on this, just going from past experiences. The last time we sailed out of Port Everglades there were seven ships there that day. I’m not sure Port Canaveral can handle that many in a day.Port Canaveral is the worlds second busiest cruise port, behind only Miami. It’s actually bigger than port Everglades, not smaller.
Yes, we've seen 9 ships in Port Everglades. The stat seems to refer to passengers, and there are fewer 3/4/5 day cruises out of PE, so fewer passengers.I haven’t ever done any research on this, just going from past experiences. In my opinion, the best part is you can see the Ships from the Airport. That's how easy it is to fly into and sail out of FTL.What is special about Port Everglades? Just that it's different and new for DCL, or is there something about it I don't know? TIA.
I find MIA easier to deal with than FLL. The one time we flew home from FLL it was a total cluster, with lines for baggage drop off well out the door and lasting almost an hour, not being allowed to go through security until around noon for a 2pm flight (arrival at 9am, so just sitting pre-security with nothing to do for hours), etc. I've never experienced any problems flying in or out of MIA.In my opinion, the best part is you can see the Ships from the Airport. I find that most people (Ourselves included) prefer FTL over MIA. The biggest benefit for you will be that you can easily fly out of either airport.I find MIA easier to deal with than FLL. How long will that train ride take?Once the high speed Brightline train route is complete, it will be easy to get to WDW from Fort Lauderdale. Right now the Brightline trains are operating from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach. I think the route to Orlando will be completed in 2023.
They have been quoting about 3 hrs. Top traveling speed for the train is 79 mph.How long will that train ride take?
The section of track between MCO & Cocoa will run up to 125 mph. The track between West Palm & Cocoa is being upgraded to allow speeds of up to 100 mph. They have been quoting about 3 hrs. Top traveling speed for the train is 79 mph.
3 hours is a lot longer than a flight, and only a little shorter than driving. About equal to flying when adding in early arrival for a flight. I don't really see the advantage over flying or driving unless you just really dislike flying or driving. Is it a lot cheaper? They have been quoting about 3 hrs. When the train is done, they are supposed to have stops for both Port Everglades and Port Miami. Hopefully this will materialize.
