PORFQ May 14, Day 4: Star Tours and the longest walk EVER!

STAR TOURS (WARS) WEEKEND!!! Slept in until 9am then headed over to MGM for Star Tours Weekend! Yippee!!! DS doesn’t care about it that much, but I’m the Sci-Fi fan of the family anyway. He indulges me. =) It started off pretty good with the Storm Troopers hanging out at the entrance way on top of the turnstile building. They were up there making fun of the “humans” down below. It was pretty funny and I got some good pics with my (disposable) camera. I used the new camera case to store Tylenol, Pepto-Bismol and allergy pills. Good use for the new camera case, huh? Oh, well. Grabbed FP for TOT and rode RNR first, 20 min wait. DS is really scared to go on TOT, me too!!! The first time of the trip is the scariest, and then it’s fun again. RnR is always fun and not scary. Went over to TOT, the FP wait was 30 mins. That’s pretty long. I was scared to death by the time we got in the car. This isn’t even my first time (or DS); it’s probably about my tenth time, just first time this trip. We had the last row, thank goodness. This nice man let me wrap my leg around his leg for an anchor. DS wouldn’t let me, said it was bothersome and I was being goofy. The nice man didn’t care, hence the “nice man” title. So I wrapped my leg around his leg and screamed for dear life. It was fun and scary. As always. I don’t feel as secure since they took the lap bar away. I don’t care for the belts, but everyone else loves them since it makes it scarier. We went to Muppet Vision next. Lots of screaming children in there this time. Poor things are probably tired. DS wanted to try out ABC Commissary, so I said ok. I had the Veggie Lo Mein ($5.99) and it was pretty darned good if I say so myself! I think DS had a DCB again. The child lives on DCB’s. Not a good balanced diet. We both like One Man’s Dream, so we went to do that next. Did some shopping afterwards. Then we took the Friendship Boat (another first) down to the Swan & Dolphin. We walked around there for a good hour taking pics and checking the place out. So very pretty. We want to stay at the Dolphin side someday. Then we walked to Beaches and Cream (another first, finally found it, not for lack of trying before). Had ice creams, I had Strawberry Shortcake. Yummy! Then we continued on to walk to the back entrance of Epcot! Long walk, but it was nice out. Went to Innoventions, Mission Space play area, played some games, our team won, picked up more Pecans, YUM, then back to FQ to change and rest. Took the boat to DD for a while, split a roast beef original sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich (another first) Yum, yum and double-yum! We wished we didn’t share that one! Walked around DD, DS bought a CD and I picked up some DVD’s at Virgin Mega store, headed back by boat about 11:00pm, made some decaf tea in the room, cleaned up and off to slumber land.

I didn't like ToT with the lap bars, I think I'm going to like it even less with the seat belts. Or maybe I'm just not going on!

To retain my title of "your Mom's cool", I had to do it. Gotta keep that title as looonnnggg as possible. See if you can find a "nice guy" like I did. That helps, and it's fun!
