Hi - newbie here! We are planning our family first trip to DisneyWorld for February. I've done a lot of reading about the resorts and think I have it narrowed down to POR or CSR. We have three boys ages 9, 6 and 2.
Here are the things that attract me/concern me about each:
POR:
- Good: Trundle bed would be good for my 2 YO (if we get that room), lots of dining options on dining plan, boat to downtown disney (not sure how much that will be a factor)
- Bad: Rooms looked cramped to me and not sure about those logs sticking up on the bedposts. I've heard the bus is tight coming and going from there. The rooms look a little old and worn from what I've seen in photos.
CSR:
- Good: fitness center (for my husband - I look forward to walking and staying out of the gym for the week
), queen beds (if we get them - disney won't confirm that process is complete), like the motif better than the POR, newer (rooms that have been renovated)
- Bad: dining plan - can we eat there at all?
Our needs for our trip: I think my two older kids and I will outlast my dh and 2 YO at Disney. I envision them heading back to the room and leaving us behind for continued fun - want this transition to be as easy as possible. Also, I want there to be somewhere for my 2 YO to sleep - won't do a crib or PnP. The trundle would be nice, but most likely he will wind up sleeping with us at some point every night - that's tough in a double.
Any thoughts? I haven't been to Disney since I was a kid and have never stayed on site, so I'm flying blind. We considered doing the Poly (for more room + monorail), but can't stomach the extra $1000 it takes to stay there - especially since airfares aren't coming down as low as I'd like them to.
Thanks in advance!
Karla
