POR Transportation Comments

Just returned from a weeks stay at POR on June 8th. The boat from POR to DD was a neat perk however I must say I was not impressed with the Bus Service from POR to the parks especially on EE days. Almost everyday we noticed buses assigned to the other parks that weren't EE making more pickups in the morning that the EE park for that day. One guest we spoke to missed a 8:15 character breakfast seating and was at the bus stop at 7:15 that morning. Many times the EE park bus would pick up a load of guests and with only the main bus stop open there would another bus load turned away to wait several minutes for the next bus. Kind of makes the EE guest benefit not really a benefit at all. To be fair most of the time the return trip to POR from the parks was ok with minimal waits and most of the drivers were very friendly. We also talked to several other guests staying at other resorts and they reported the same busing problems at their resorts especially on EE days to the designated parks. Staying at a Disney resort onsite is a really a great thing and the transportation provided is one of the main benefits, but in my opinion Disney really needs to reevaluate the busing service provided to guests especially for the parks on designated EE days.

We are about to make a reservation for Easter 2004 and stay at POR. Can I get some other comments about transportation at this hotel?

I would like to know as well. We are staying in Sept/Oct and in the past the bus service has been very good. I don't want to wait an hour for a bus or miss EE.

I'm sure these were just fluke happenings.
