We'll be staying at POR and have a breakfast reservation at Kona Cafe at 8:30. Which would be easiest - fastest?

POR to MK (bus) - monorail to Poly
or
POR to EPCOT (bus) - monorail to TTC and then walk to Poly

Thanks.

Generally speaking with Disney transportation: the fewer number of transfers and stops you have on your way, the better.

Since time is crucial here, and assuming you don't have a car to drive yourself, I'd take the bus to MK, and then boat from MK to the Poly.

The reason I'd take the boat is that Poly is three stops away from MK via the monorail and the monorail can often get slowed down at CR and the TTC. The boat will probably have to stop at GF before going to the Poly, but it is a quick stop, and then on to the Poly. This is a little quicker going TO the Poly from MK than the monorail.

If you're going to MK after the Poly, I'd take the monorail, as it makes a quick stop at GF to pick up a small number of people (normally), and then zips on to MK.

You certainly could go to EPCOT and then take the monorail from there to TTC and then walk to Poly, but that will most likely be quite a bit slower than what I'm suggesting.

Thanks.

I didn't think about the boat - is it running that early? Would you know about how long the trip is?

The rest of the day we don't have any deadlines - we plan to explore some of the resorts and spend time at our resort (boating, etc.) so we'll just play that one by ear. Although riding the monorail is in there - just for the ride.

The buses to Magic Kingdom start at 6:30 am, so just get up early and enjoy the sunrise and you will have plenty of time to get to the Poly no matter what transportation you use!!

The fastest and easiest way to get to the Polynesian is to just take a cab.

The next best option to take a bus to MK, then hop on the monorail. I may be mistaken, but doesn't the boat stop at another resort before Poly?

As posted above, the boat does stop at GF, but it is a very quick stop.

However, the monorail stops at CR and the TTC before getting to the Poly. From lots of experience staying at the Poly, I've found that the boat is almost always faster with this trip than the monorail, because it has one less stop, it generally gets to the dock faster than waiting on the monorail, and it is not subject to the sometimes lengthy delays the monorail incurs with high crowds or monorail problems.

On the trip back to MK from Poly, though, I always take the monorail, because it only stops at GF before MK, and GF is a quick stop, comparatively.
