por standard rooms bayou bldg 14

from what I've been reading looks like alligator bayou bldg 14 is a great location. we are going in december and have a standard view. since we don't have a balcony, view isn't a huge issue but i would still prefer not to have a view of the parking lot. can anyone give me an idea of standard views for this building - do any of them look at wooded areas? do any of them give you a glimpse of water or the pool? Also, for those who have stayed here with a standard view what room were you in and did you like it? Thanks - 10 weeks so its time to start getting excited!!!!

A standard room will have one of the following views: landscaping/woods, parking lot or another building. Views of the pool or water are extra. Bldg 14 in AB I was told by the FD is generally reserved for disabled guest. You might consider bldgs 15 or 18. I have always preferred the MB section because it is much quieter and have found Oak Manor and Parterre Place very close to the main building. It is just over the bridge and down the path.

We had the parking lot view, second floor from Building 14 in May. With all the trees, it was still a nice view. You aren't right next to the parking lot, but back in a tad. Building 14 is often difficult to get into, if the place is crowded, since most of it is handicap. If it's not all taken, they will put you there. We drove, and felt it was a great building..easy to get to our car.

FYI, building 18 is a smoking optional building, in case that matters to you.

We were in bldg. 15 and it was nice. One side of it does face the parking lot but the other side faces a nice wooded area. Close to the food court, bus stop and main lobby area. A very good location.

It is an easy walk to the main pool and also to a quiet pool. And, when we were there last November it was definitely non-smoking. Keep in mind that when I say it is an easy walk .... that doesn't mean super close. The main pool is in the middle of the complex and bldg. 15 is just a little farther than 14 which is the closest in the AB section to most things. You might want to look at the map on this site. That will give you a really good idea of how everything is situated. But, we really liked how close it was to the food court and main bus stop. Very convenient.
