POR questions

Hi! We will be staying at POR in mid December for our Honeymoon. Could anyone tell me which "mansion" would be he best. We would like non-smoking, quite, and short distance to at least a bus stop. Plus which bus stop gets picked up last at POR. Thanks for all your help!!! I can't wait.

I'm not sure if you've seen the map but here's the link for it and you can kinda see what rooms look better to you. From what I can tell it looks like Oak Minor in the closest to the food court area and gift shop.

Been to POR a few years in a row now.

If you want the closest mansion to the main building and main bus stop (south depot), dining and store, then you want #90 - Oak Manor. This would also be the mansion closest to the boat launch for DTD.

If you want the closest to a bus stop, not needing it to be the main stop, then you want #85 - Magnolia Terrace. The east depot is right behind it. This would also be the mansion closest to the pool.

The bus stops are as follows...south depot, west depot, north depot and finally east depot. However, before it comes to POR it stops at PRFQ.

Sometimes the south depot fills up right away and never even goes to the other depots. I do believe that during the busier times of the day there are CM's who call in for buses to come to the other depots if they don't get back there after hitting the first stop. I'm not positive though.

There are 2 parts to Port Orleans Riverside - the "mansion" side , AKA Magnolia Bend, the other is Alligator Bayou.

Since you mention HONEYMOON, I would make sure you request King-size bed. They charge extra. I've seen anywhere from $10-30 more a night, but hey, it's your honeymoon. (you'll need to get price confirmed thru them).

KING BEDS are in limited supply. They always have wanted to put us in Alligator Bayou and from what I gather it is quiet. Maybe they have more king beds over there, I don't know.

We've always preferred the Magnolia Bend side ourselves and in terms of getting quiet we've had the best luck w/ Acadia Hse. I guess it is the farthest from everything house, hence it's "quiet".
IMHO the grounds around Magnolia Terrace evoke greater "romaticism" and charm. But the inside of the rooms are all relatively the same.

My bro's honeymoon was at POFQ and he absolutely loved it - and I must say that it has proved easier for us to get a King bed there then POR ever has.

Hi, we're just back from POR and we LOVED IT!! We had a corner room in Parterre Place, it was non-smoking and right across from the bridge, plus we had a quiet pool practically right outside our door, which was both lovely and actually quiet. Although we were on the first floor and the resort was full, our room felt quiet and private.

However, at check-in, ask the CM exactly where your room is on the map. We were shown an intial room in Acadia House (too far away from what we wanted) and then I asked if we could be closer to the main building. She then showed me the exact location of a few room available in other mansions. I got to pick the one I liked best. We had reserved a "water view" room. I've heard others say it wasn't worth it, but at least it ensured that we weren't in the back of the mansions. We checked in very late at night, and there was no one around, so I think the CM had time to be extra helpful.

In terms of busses; we were just a short walk over the bridge to the bus stop in the front of the main building (south depot??). Often the bus filled up there and went right onto the park. Also it was the first stop (usually after POFQ, but sometimes not even that) on the way home. Also, since it was right at the main building, it was convenient to then stop off at the food court for a piece of fruit or a quick snack to take back to the room and the pool.
