POR question: Allligator Bayou or Mansions?

I have noticed this question does not usually get a response, but I will try again.

Which area, Alligator Bayou or the Magnolia Mansions do you prefer? I will be traveling with my DH and two kids, ages 6 and 4.

I may not be of much help, but I stayed in both last year. From the pictures, I thought Alligator Bayou would be my favorite, but it wasn't the case when we got there.

I liked both evenly, although I do prefer the wooded areas of AB. But the rooms of the Mansions seemed a little brighter. So it kind of balances out.

I do not like the mansions. Much prefer the wooded / shaded area of AB.
Just depends on your taste I guess.

I loved the Mansions!! I havent stayed at AB, but I've walked through and it does not appeal to me at all!! It is all personal preference. If you ask me, the Mansion area(with the bulk headed river, just feels more upscale to me. The grounds are just beautiful, especially in the spring!!!

We've stayed in both. I found they were pretty much the same (and I liked them both). 10 yo DD said she likes the AB section better. In AB we've always lucked out in getting buildings 14, 15 or 18; at Mansions we've gotten Parterre Place. So, I think she really liked the location better, not the room.

I would say to not worry about it -- that way, you won't feel disappointed if you don't get your request met. POR is lovely all the way around.

After reading them, I think I will request the Mansions, since they are what I was first drawn to in the pictures.

Only 3 more weeks, yeah!

I've stayed at both and would choose the AB anyday over the Mansions. The Mansions are very nice, but my family enjoyed the "feel" of the AB. It's shaded, more rustic looking, great location to everything (pools, buses, food court, ect). AB is more of a theme where the Mansions are more of a nice hotel feeling. Both have the same great service, cleanliness and amenities, so it just depends are your particular taste.
